There were several:
1: A razor that was newly introduced into the market.
2: A pressure cooker.
3: A pair of female pyjamas given by the owner of a silk store.
4: A loaf of bread... the list goes on.
However, most of these gifts, despite being categorized as "insensitive" came from people whose intentions were good. For example, the female pyjamas came from the store owner who wanted my female relatives/ girlfriends to try the quality of his silk. The razor came from a friend who bought a gift apparently in a hurry while the loaf of bread was from someone who could barely have afforded anything else.
I guess its the feelings and emotion behind the presents and gifts that we need to take into account rather than the utility of the item we recieve.

SM gift cheque. I hate thoughtless gifts. I appreciate more personal items, things that will show that the giver knows me well, or took pains to find out what it is I really appreciate.
