First of all, if you think that humans understand everything there is in the universe, you're wrong. We don't
look at the history of science. Newton thought that gravity was instantaneous force, he was wrong. It wasn't. Einstein then describe gravity as curvature of space fabric. Now string theory says gravity is force transmitted by particles, graviton. Looking at the big picture, we're just beating around the bush with this gravity. First is force, then its not, and now it is again. Why gravity is so weak compare to the other 3 fundamental forces? we don't know, though M theory has an explanation for it, the theory itself is unproven and doubted by many.
I'm not saying that science is not true, I'm a science student myself. What I'm saying is that our understanding of the universe is very limited. There are other layer of reality that we can never comprehend.
And then there's religion. Does god exist? I won't say what I believe but there's no right or wrong. You can believe if he exist or not, no one can prove otherwise or vice versa. Why religion has been a debate for so long? Because we can't prove it exist or that it does not. Again, this is something beyond human's intellectual limits.
yes we do have intellectual limits too. A monkey cannot do algebra because it doesn't have the intellectual capabilities to do so. What makes us think we don't have a limit too? I think we do.
Afterall, if we're as intelligent as the universe allows, we wouldn't have come up with different contradicting theories (relativity and quantum mechanics) yet they are both required to explain the universe. There are just certain thing about the universe we'll never understand.

Your question reminds me of Psalm 8:3-4
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
God, as He is portrayed in the Bible, is capable of seeing the Grand Scheme and the tiniest details at the same time. That alone indicates that He is omniscient and omnipotent. It also indicates that He is very concerned with His creation. Think of the universe as a large tapestry that God made and put on His wall. He can both admire the whole thing and note the smallest details simultaneously.
The hypothetical existence of other planets is irrelevant. So is the vastness of space. You have presented something of a false dilemma:
Since the universe is vast
1. A loving God created it
2. There is no God
3. Earth is insignificant
Let us consider the options
1. If a loving creator made the universe, He would take care of it. If an unconcerned creator made the universe, he would take no notice of it after completion. If the latter were true this whole thing would fall apart so quickly we would have no time to ponder it. It is reasonable to assume that God takes care of the things we cannot even know about.
2. If God does not exist we are in serious trouble. We are flying around a massive fireball and a huge rock is zooming around us. Could this have come to be by chance? Every program has a programmer. Every building has a builder. Every design has a designer. Every creation has a Creator.
Belief in a powerful, yet loving God is logical and rational. Disbelief in Him indicates that you refuse to consider the world around you. Your question implies that you don't want a real answer, but that you are merely rationalizing your own beliefs. Ask questions only if you want answers...

Religious answer:
Yep, the Creator made it all for us. And even the Creator makes his buildings out of bricks. We call those bricks subatomic particles. They make up everything the Creator built--even us. We had better get off our butts and quit squandering our existence on this rock and "go forth and be fruitful" on all the other places in this universe created for us.
Non-religious answer: With the trillions of solar systems out there with trillions of planets, the odds are against us being the only ones here. In the approximated 14 to 15 billion years the universe has existed, something out there must have come up with a way to travel those vast distances in acceptable time frames. They're exploring and claiming new territory, we should get off our butts and go claim our own.
Either way, show more support of organizations like NASA and space exploration in general with greater enthusiasm.

Have you ever seen people of more then 8 feet height amongst those who build Jumbo Jets ,50 storey buildings, miles long bridges and such other huge structures?A creator and his creations are not related in any way to the size of of the former. As to how this vast universe was created is a different issue but surely has nothing to do with the size of it's creator,if any.

Here's something to think about. At this point with our knowledge of medicine and technology we can do many things, as human beings. Each day is a new step in the evolutionary process of understanding, we are still very very young yet in the area of comprehending what this life is really all about.
So, at this extremely early stage in human existence, and in the long progress we are making in medical, science, and technology related fields, do you REALLY think that we can even begin to comprehend the mind of God??.........I seriously doubt it.

First we don't truly know how far God's creation abilities go.
God is certainly NOT Harry Potter. He can't wave a magic wand and make the universe.
It takes 6 days.
It would seem even God has to follow a recipe to make things work right.

How about a God who is large enough to create every atom in the vastness [and other alternates unseen by human eyes] and to make many more than one earth type place in the vastness. God's even bigger than that.
Yes we are significant to God. We wouldn't be here if God didn't need us.

I thoroughly accept as true with you. in comparison to area, we are the scale of atoms in comparison to us. Why could a god care lots a pair of particular little element. the entire planet is decrease than a speck interior the vastness of area not to point one guy or woman, or in step with possibility a set of persons.

Perhaps God is quarantining us (for a while at least) because he knows what idiots we are in our coltish innocence (and so he is protecting the other planets from our baneful influence).
