About a year ago, a man in Ca brutally murdered a woman who was 4 months pregnant. This S.o.b. was later caught, and was charged and convicted of "double" murder. Now don't get me wrong, I hope he Rots in jail for the rest of his natural life.
In the Great state of Ca Second Trimester Abortions are perfectly legal. So when a Dr. enters a woman "Cuts" up a fetus, vacuums it out, and throws it in the trash, why isn't he guilty of murder??
Now before all you pro-choicers get angry, understand this: I don't believe that ANY government should make ANY law that stops ANYBODY doing what they want to THEMSELVES (no one else though).
But the raw truth is that "fetus","Blob of cells", whatever you call it, is not your body. Every cell in your body has one thing in common, They all have the SAME DNA. The fetus, weather you like or not, dosn't have your exact DNA, therefore making it a separate and unique being in your body.
I am a future Geneticist,and religion played no part in my opinion

In the landmark abortion case Roe vs. Wade, the decision to terminate is left to the pregnant woman’s physician. In the case Doe vs. Bolton doctors may consider all areas of a woman’s health. The Georgia case allows doctors to decide to abort based on the mental health of the expectant mother. I believe there has been an attempt by pro-life groups to classify second and third trimester as partial birth abortions and to restrict abortions during these stages. Essentially, if the woman is declared unstable or in mental anguish, then a doctor can legally abort the fetus.

The major issue isn't hypocrisy. It's the governments attempt at legislating morality. You say you are a future Geneticist, so therefore you know that those cells in a woman’s body are alive, and to abort those cells is murder. I think the debate is more complicated, let’s assume your opinion is reasonable and valid. If a teenage girl, raped repeatedly by her father, became pregnant and was unable to seek an abortion because she didn't turn eighteen until after her second trimester, aborted her "same DNA". Is she a murderer? Should the same law which applies to the man who murdered a woman and her unborn child, apply to this girl.

Merriam-Webster defines hypocrisy as, "a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially: the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion"

I feel the American citizen should stop letting issues of morality become grandstands for political rhetoric. I believe as citizens we have the rights defined in our Constitution and clearly stated in The Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness". Do you feel these liberties should only be applied when it suits the government? When the rights being defended are not controversial?

There are many things that are illegal without consent that are legal with consent.

Sex versus rape -- same action, same result -- the difference is consent. That's not hypocritical.

The issue with abortion (killing the unborn) versus terminating the pregnancy is a problem with medical technology.

Every person should have the fundamental right to decide if their body will be used for the benefit of another -- whether it's forced bone marrow transplants, blood transfusions, slavery, prostitution or pregnancy -- each person should have the right at any point to say "no, I won't be involved".

Currently, the only way to terminate the woman's involvement in the pregnancy is by ending the life of the unborn. That's a defect in medical technology, no different than someone dying because a person refused to give someone else a blood transfusion.

Now, if we had the medical technology to transplant an embryo and allow it to continue in an artificial incubator -- that would still afford the woman the right to terminate her involvement, without also needing to terminate the life of the unborn. It's sad that people aren't putting their efforts into solving the actual problem and are instead just trying to control what people must do with their bodies.

guess what?

This is not a question it is a rant and almost everyone is going to report you for it, I hope you know that.

I'm sure all the doctors and law makers thought about all that before they made the laws, so talking about it on here doesn't do any good.

Why don't you go and moan about some REAL bad laws where not fetuses or "cells" are being "killed" but actual grown adults with children themselves. They are having their lives ruined by false claims and people are getting away with murder (literally) over police not following procedure properly or on a "technicality"

You kill cells every day when you scratch yourself etc etc. Get a clue and stop trying to push your opinions on everyone else.

yeah, confuses me too. so what if what you described happened on monday and she had an appointment to get an abortion later that day or the next day. then what? i also never got the whole it's my body, i can get an abortion if and when i feel like it but a person male or female cannot say it's my body i choose to not live anymore for whatever reason so i would like to end my life by my own hand or with assistance of another and you or the person who helped is in trouble. the general public consensus is the abortion is o.k. and the ending of your own life is wrong. i just don't get it. good question.

Abortion should only be legal when a woman is pregnant because of rape...or...if the pregnancy is a health issue for either mother or baby or both. In my opinion abortion is a crime when used as birth control.

Wow... this is probably the best argument against abortion I've heard. It's not biased, not based on faith or religion or emotion. Good job.

(And to answer your question, yes, I think abortion law is very hypocritical )
