Good to hear that you are already making plans. Well I can guide you since my sister went to UCLA medical school. You have to start volunteer at a hospital. Just start with few hours every other or third day. Keep on doing volunteer work for few years. Maintain a good GPA. You don't have to take all AP classes to get in to these schools. They look for an all rounder student. Participate in extra curricular activities. Get in to activities which shows leadership qualities.
For a major, you should pick something unique. So many pre-medical students go for psychology or biology. There is nothing wrong with it, but then you become one of many numbers of students applying with that same major. My sister did her Bachelors in Microbiology. Now that stands you out from all the other applicants. You can also do Chemistry major too.
You can get in to University system two ways-
First- Apply straight to a University and get in with the major.
Second- Go to a community college first and complete your 2 years of G.Es and then transfer out to a University. Since first two years are the same in a community college and in a university, it doesn't make a difference. You will end up paying a lot less in community colleges.
There is Financial aid available for every student. But for Medical school you have to take loans and that will cover all your expenses.

You would need to get into and do well in an excellent university before you can apply to medical school, which is a graduate (professional) school. In order to do that, you need to take the most rigorous and challenging classes you can, especially math and science. I can't tell you how you are going to pay for college, but if your family doesn't have any money, you may qualify for grants to cover some of it, and loans for the rest. Medical school would probably be paid for with loans. Fortunately, if you become a physician, you will be able to afford to pay of the loans over time.

You have to go to college for 4 years before going to medical school.

Focus on getting into college for now. Take the most advanced classes that you can handle, get good grades, involve yourself in extracurricular activities and volunteer. Succeeding in sciences is good evidence as to whether you'll be able to get through undergraduate science courses, the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test), or medical school itself.
