I want to become a Mystery Shopper. I have checked one company and they sound good, BUT the Better Business Bureau says they are NOT good. They are called "Shadowshopper." Has anyone become a Mystery Shopper and if you did, how did you do it and is the company you work with a reliable place and not a bunch of scam artists? Thanks alot.

It would be better to approach owners of businesses and start your own small business. You are on your terms. There are a lot of fraudulent Mystery Shopper companies out there.

Start will small local businesses in your area. Don't try to get a big chain first thing. This also cuts out the middle man allowing you a better economic advantage.

Most of these mystery shopper companies are scams , they tell you you will get free goods etc.. but what they are after is your personal info. If you want to be a mystery shopper then contact the company directly and if they outs course it you can then contact the legitimate co. yourself.

Good Luck

The places where I have worked before, the "mystery shoppers" were a part of the store security, hired by the store. It was a part of securities job to take a few minutes each hour to walk around and "shop" (look for people stealing, etc)....the other time they were in a room looking at surveillance cameras.
