snowstorms?

What it is the biggest snowstorm in the northeast in recorded history? Number of inches, and date?? I am looking for a one time snowstorm, not the total for the year. Regards-Bob.

I would have to say the Super Storm on 1993, which paralyzed the New England States for weeks. this was March 22nd and dumped 50 inches of snow on Mount Mitchell. The storm covered from way down in Florida and move up the East Coast into New England area and dumped 43 inches of snow in Syracuse.
