I've never been added as a contact so I don't know how it feels :(

--Edit: now I have been added and I feel very special :) thanks Elizabeth (with weird symbols instead of letters) and others.

Hey! I feel the same way. I didn't realise how many people added me until I looked. I felt good that someone appreciate me or my answers enough to want to keep tab on my movement on Y!A.

Not sure if you already know this - but everytime someone added you, you get an email from Yahoo! to let you know that they have. Do you check your email?
I knew about the email but never appreciate how many additions there have been over the months until I looked in my profile page.
So - for my part - I want to say "Thanks" too.

It should make me feel good, but it is a little weird when they are 13 or 65 years old. I hope ther are not the only people who can relate to me

I agree with you...I take it as a compliment. I add people as a contact when I think that their question and answers are interesting, thought-provoking or if they make me laugh, so all of my contacts should feel VERY honored! ;-)

Being as this is my third account, whenever someone adds me as a contact I feel suspicious.

That's bad, but it's true...

Curious as to why. If they have email, I write and ask them. I nearly have enough for a lovely quilt now.

I always thought "Why me? Don't they know I am an idiot". But fan appreciation and a dollar for an ice cream cone is always nice. (so where is my dollar?)

I feel loved, valued, and worth-while as a human being and answerer.
