If I, or Akon or Vick do something illegal, there is a certain set of rules that give us guidelines for punishmet of our crimes, in some way or another, we have to pay for it. Why are there situations in this country where illegal is ok, and where those doing the illegal action (being in this country illegally) is actually rewarded with health care, education and other social services? Why is illegal, (NOT LEGAL), a standard for some situations and not others?

The lack of enforcement of immigration law is a disgrace to the nation. Other nations fully enforce their laws, and many are toughening those laws, yet our politicians state to enforce our laws would make us look bad in the eyes of other nations. Failure to enforce our laws, including the immigration law makes us look weak and ineffective and only exacerbates the problem.
Illegal is illegal.
As the old saying goes..if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
The new saying should be...if you can't be legally in my nation, then you will face deportation.

It's not for Nothing that Politics is called an art of the Impossible. The number of Illegal immigrants is so big that it would be beneficial to the state as well as immigrants to regularize their entry than punish and exile them. These people are contributing significantly to the national gross product as such and in a labor starved country like US,they aren't economic burden but help, albeit illegally but help all the same. You may call it as a decision based on practical wisdom.Yes,on merits of principles and existing laws, your point is valid and justified.

Because there is a difference between illegal in the sense of not being authorized and illegal in the sense of being criminal.

Illegal immigrants are people who have entered the country without proper authorization. Because they are here without permission, they are subject to being removed if they are discovered and if Immigrations and Customs Enforcement have the resources to remove them and a place to send them to (some illegals come from countries that we do not have arrangement with for the return of citizens -- e.g. North Korea). However, they have not violated any criminal statutes and there is no penalty for being in this country without authorization.

Illegal imigrants do not get in trouble, because this country need them to do the jobs that nobody wants to do for cheap, i mean who else would work in the fields, and in factories getting paid the minimum wage. The u.s takes no action because they get money from them from taxes, and most immigrants do no fill up income taxes so that means that the goverment keeps that money! And not to talk about all of the process of becoming legal in this country they spend thousands of dollars for nothing!

It's not a standard, it's a question of laws that are not being executed properly. Why aren't the laws that are in place being executed to deport illegals back across the border? Illegal immigration is a much bigger problem than the border patrol can handle.

They are not here legally, as required by law! It is a civil offense.

The only CRIMINAL offense I know of is to HIRE one!

And you make giant leaps about what they get, and what you leave out is what their employers get for slave labor! Send those who hire them the damn bill!

It is not legal to raise someones rent without a proper notice. It is not criminal though!

You are perfectly right!
We have laws that tell you how to become anAmerican.
These ppl are not immigrants, they are criminals!
If I stole money or food or anything, even if it was to feed my kids, without asking first,I would be a criminal also.
These ppl have stolen our bread & butter without asking if they can come to the Table!

Because Latinos, illegal or not, vote. Politicians like votes, regardless of where they are coming from.
