I own hundreds of them, plus 8 track tapes, some 45's, 78's and 33's. I also have a couple of stereos that play all of the above plus some old Boom Boxes that will also play the cassettes. The problem with the cassettes, though, is after you don't play them for awhile, they become loose and they don't play well. It is a shame as I have so many of them.

Never did. I could see a little further than Sony could and had a feeling tape cassettes wasn't going to last longer than a decade. And wouldn't get to two. I kept all of my vinyl and I was right. The next format I went out to get was a new thingy called a Compact Disc. As I saw it, the tape and the tape machine had way to many moving parts. Given time and stupid people, they'd break way to easily and cost millions in the long run. I knew it was only time before they came up with something better so didn't waste my money on one of them.

You want a little stroll down memory lane? I remember playing 8-track tapes of the soundtrack from American Graffiti and the first two Led Zepp albums to death. I don't remember ever buying a pre-made cassette. The wonderful thing about cassettes was that you could have mobile music without having to buy it. My cassette tapes were made by recording my vinyl records. My first LP was "The Best of Herman's Hermits"; an early LP to get the most play was probably "The Soft Parade" by The Doors. The first record I bought was a 45-rpm single of "Incense and Peppermints" by the Strawberry Alarm Clock. I'm 54.

Sure do. My stereo system can play cassette.

I also still have a collection on vinyl - some of which are real collector's item. Still got a turntable to play them as well.

Yes absolutely.

My Ford F-100 has only a tape player. So I tape my CDs and play the tunes for me and my kid as we're crusin'. The sound is good as long as you have a good recorder. You need a good record tape deck., The boom boxes they make now can't recored worth crap.

The good thing about tapes is that you can't hop around. you have to play t he tunes in order. You can re-understand the rationale for the order of the tunes.

Not only cassettes but LPs, 45s, 8 tracks, 78 RPM records and even one 16RPM. No reel to reels or Edison cylinders though...

I have a whole big cassete case full of them. Still have about 15 records (Styx, Foreigner, AC/DC). Even have about 30 8-tracks, but no player.
