Is it not funny to laugh if someone trips in the middle of the street?

Question

My Father and I were walking in downtown Columbus, Ohio, on High Street ,when he decides to jaywalk.
But , High Street's middle line is actually a raised bump in the road. As hr ran across the street, his toe caught on it, tripping at a running speed. Then his body naturally flew forward, and his legs attempted to catch up with his body's momentum, and he barely made it after a little bit of acrobatics.
He's 6'4 and only about 190 , so he looked like a stick puppet in motion, trying not to fall down; he didn't fall down, he made it to the other side, but then looked back at the bump, scratching his head.
I couldn't stop laughing; and then when I made it to the other side, I still kept bursting out laughing,
So he told me, "Man you have a sick sense of humor!"

Do I? Wouldn't you laugh, if you saw that?

Oh Yeah, I would have laughed! Then told him that's what happens when you jaywalk , Dad! My Dad died many years ago. I miss him every day. I probably would have laughed after I made sure he was alright. I would have told him just how he looked & that I wish he could have seen how funny he looked. We went to a state park lake to take senior portraits & my Mom tried to sit down in a swing without holding on to the chains, rookie mistake I know, After I asked if she was alright & what happened, I took a picture of her on the ground helped her up & laughed my head off & showed her the picture & she laughed too. Don't you just wish you had it recorded?

I would have laughed too, but probably not let him see that you were laughing. I think he was more embarrassed of falling and I bet anything that he laughed about it to himself and probably called himself stupid or something like that. Give him time and probably his attitude will change. That will teach him to jaywalk....I still am laughing!!!!!

Whoever says they wouldn't laugh is either seriously depressed, or lying. That is some funny business. And remember, it's always fun to laugh at someone else's expense.

under specific circumstances like; first,it wasnt bloody. second, the 'tripper' isn't old so that it would have killed him/ her instantly and third, that the 'tripper' took it lightly too, if it exhibited atleast 2 of these, then laugh at your hearts content. But in your case, was the 'tripper' your dad?, then you have indeed a sick sense of humor man.

sounds funny. if it was a sick old homeless guy, i would help him up. i wouldn't laugh.

if he looks like some arrogant yuppy who cuts people off on the road, i would laugh and throw pennies at him.

He needs to learn to laugh at himself. Would he have laughed at you in the same situation? of course he would.

You was laughing at events, not at him and you knew that he had come to no harm

try tripping in public yourself and let the rest of us laugh at you for an hour. or so. how would you feel about that?

Me and my girl saw a cop do almost the exact same thing... we both died laughing and he was Hot! He tried giving us a bulls--t ticket, but blew it off in shame. Hell, yeah!
