Do travel agents really only make ~20k a year :( ?

Professionals please help with guidance...this sounds like a great career for me but I live in a CA which is a costly state.

Only bad ones. You can make much more if you hustle and it depends a lot on your personality. I have friends that have online agencys that make some pretty serious money. good luck
