Yes this is true! And it's very exciting. The Yankees pitching this year has not been good, and it's given young pitchers like Hughes, Chamberlain, and now Kennedy a chance to pitch in the majors. What's amazing is how fast these guys have moved. Hughes just turned 21, and Chamberlain and Kennedy were picked just last year. The Yankees have had a LOT of young pitchers come up and fail the last several years, and it's great to see these three guys with power arms get to the majors.

Hughes has struggled a bit, but that's how pitchers get experience. Chamberlain is learning to pitch in pressure situations, and Kennedy will get to do both. I don't know if the Yankees make the playoffs, but at least all three of these guys will see what it's like in the majors, and will get some of the rough spots out of the way for next season. It will take a couple of years before they are great, but they are the future of the Yankees!

I feel bad for Mussina, but the Yankees can't keep pitching him if he is going to get beat up every start. At least if a young guy pitches and gets hit hard, he will learn from it because he will improve. At this stage of his career, Mussina is not improving, but declining. It's sad, but it happens to every player.

Think of the future: Hughes, Chamberlain, Wang, Kennedy, and maybe Clippard. No more Carl Pavanos or Jaret Wrights!

Mussina will likely sit one or possibly two starts depending how Ian Kennedy does on Saturday. Even though I like Mike he hasn't had his game on for the past 4 or 5 starts. He's really stunk up the place his last 3 starts. I'm hoping he can get it together before the playoffs we could really use him.

Mussina will likely never pitch in a Yankee Uniform again.

On Baseball Tonight last night, the ESPN commentators thought that Mussina appeared hurt. If so, he should be allowed to rehab. He did not help the Yankees on Monday. We Red Sox fans did not mind.

The Moose is sitting out his next start and Torre will probably not make any decision on what to do next until after the weekend. Mussina should be sent to the pen for long-relief work. The Yanks can't afford to have him pitch out of this funk within the rotation.

I think that Mussina will pitch after the Tampa series.
Ian Kennedy will start against Tampa and will probably win because Tampa sucks....
After that start, Ian Kennedy should replace Sean Henn for his crappy outings.

I feel bad for Mussina but he hasn't been getting the job done. Looking forward to see what the hype about Kennedy is all about.

This sucks.

Mussina does need to be replaced ASAP, but I feel that all these pitchers should have a little bit more experience under their belts before coming to the majors.

How many times have they brought in a young pitcher this year that turned out not to be ready?

I just don't want Kennedy to choke or anything, just in case he isn't ready. If he lives up to his name, then all power to him and my Yankees!

i hope moose goes to the pen if not get another start or two to be back to where he was a couple weeks ago.... we need brian bruney or even chris britton who they traded jarret wright for, back up on saturday and replace those jokes out there like sean henn and edwar ramirez.

Yeah thats what I heard on Sport Center, too. I feel exactly the same. I always liked Moose, and now I feel bad for him....

Thank god for Petite, though!
