You sound like me, all over. I served ten years also, in the 101st Airborne Rangers, put in two years in 'Nam, wounded twice.
What you do is write your Representatives in Washington, your congressmen, all your reps, this is the proper American way. You write articles in the Newspaper, I've written and had printed many.
You stand up and speak the truth, you take no political issues, keep honest.
It was nice meeting you.

I feel sorry for all decent Americans.
As an outsider I watched over the past few decades as the USA has changed from a nation that seemed to offer hope to the world (we knew it wasn't perfect) to one that represents the worst aspects of western society.
This may be something to do with its overwhelming military power producing an arrogant and biased view of the rest of the world.
However, this power does not necessarily translate into success as we see in Iraq.
I have never known a time when the USA has been so despised by the rest of the world, even its friends.
The trouble is that the political system is so corrupt ( remember the hanging chads) that it may already be too late to turn things around peacefully.
Will Washington in 50 years time look like Baghdad now?

This country is in serious trouble. We are all in love with the ideals it was founded on but when we look to the White house for leadership all we get are lies and manipulation for financial gain. This is the problem with American capitalism all of our leaders can be influenced and bought for a price. The only real vote we have anymore is how we spend our money. Do not spend one dollar to support corrupt corporations and do what ever you can to expose corrupt politicians. If they keep pushing the American people eventually the people will slap them down.

I am proud of my country and love the ideals it was founded upon. Our founding fathers were God loving and fearing men. It hurts to see what has become of the U.S. since the past 20 yrs.
I totally agree with you and think we need to pray for our country like never before. Pray for our decision making politicians.
I also agree with cowboydoc, we need to start somewhere, by writing our Representatives at the white house and our congressmen. From doing nothing, results in nothing.
Pray and write, pray and speak out.
With God all things are possible.
God bless you all for loving our country and wanting its best.

I agree with you.
I hate to seem unpatriotic to some but isn't it hard to ignore the problems within the Bush administration when a new person every week faces some new charge or another...

we have hungry kids here
why go across the seas to feed them?
NO ONE wants to lead us... afraid they will be shot by a sniper... and that is the truth..
they talk about it.. bit once they get office .. all bets are off...
You and me and everyone else needs to start our own march to the white house......
