Which team, collectively, is the "better" team?
Which Team would you select for a 5 on 5?

The 70-71 team has four Hall of Famers and the 80-81 has one HoF. I'll take the 70-71 team. Joe Barry Carroll played a season in Phoenix. And Dr. Dunkenstein was also a great 3 point shooter.

Those are some NICE teams. I would take the 71 squad which fields some greater players in Cowens, Maravich, and Lanier. The only one from the 81 team quite on their level is McHale. Murphy is one of the best free throw shooters ever, as well.

Of course I would take the 1980 Rookie Team, or the 1985 Rookie Team over those two.

1971 - in his prime - no one stopped Pistol Pete. Many folks may not remember him - I was fortunate enough to see him play his last year, and I've seen tape of him . . . un-freakin-believable!
