Hello Just James...don't tell me, let me guess... you are an American - right? I only say that because it sounds like such an 'American' question.
Yes, people in England do have freedom of speech, in fact we invented modern democracy.
Lots of people have said they "hate" the Queen (captial Q by the way) and have NOT lost their head. We do not have capital punishment in England, unlike many parts of the US.
You seem to have a kind of Hollywood, medieval view of England which is a definate shame. For the record, England is a totally democratic, free, liberal, highly advanced, economically powerful nation where all its citizens are free to criticise the monarchy if they so wish without fear of losing a part of their body.
Sounds pretty good to me.
