It tells you something when Fidel Castro wants Hillary and Obama to be the winning ticket for the 2008 election. When tyrannical dictators are rooting for you, that is an indictment of you!

Fidel Castro has been hurt by Democrats over the years because they oppose what he wants. He knows Americans do not like him and he therefore knows that if he compliments the democrats they have a better shot at losing.

Well Castro favors a socialist government, so it shows the American people what direction the democrats want to take this country in.

I didn't read it as an endorsement, more that it would be an "unbeatable ticket". I take that to mean that the combo would be strong enough to beat any contenders, not that he wanted them to win. In the CNN news story, he goes on to say what he doesn't like about them.

Did you actually read the article you linked to? He didn't endorse it, he said it'd be a surefire winner. Again, not endorsing, speculating. Actually in the same article, he attacked Clinton and Obama for demanding democratic change in Cuba. Nice try.

Coragryph gave the perfect answer to this question.

Clinton and Obama would have much preferred to not have Castro's endorsement. But, it is what it is and I don't think it will have much effect on the voters.

Castro is not stupid.

He knows the best way to hurt the Democratic party that has consistently opposed him is to endorse Democratic candidates.

I couldn't possibly care less what Fidel Castro thinks about ANYTHING.

I don't understand why Republicans seem to be putting so much stock in the opinion of a communist dictator. That really concerns me.

I could care less that he endorsed Hillary and obama. I find it interesting that the rest of the world including our allies also endorse them.
