Even though Obama is biracial, I believe him to also be black American, he was born at a time when everyone was either black or white, and he went to college here, and for over 20 years has been around black culture, his wife is black, and most importantly, has been treated and viewed as a black person his entire lifetime. It's always funny to me when people say that he chose to identify as black just for the campaign, as if his skin color is something he can turn on and off whenever it suits him. Proof of his "blackness" so to speak, is all of the racial slurs he was called and of being "uppity" and other things. Has his life been like every black person in America? No, but then, every black person in America has lead different lives. Some blacks live like the Cosby Show. My stepfather's family is like that, nothing but people with Master Degrees and PH D's , fancy homes and cars. Some families live like Good Times, lol. We come in a wide spectrum.

I think Obama is the true defenition of an African American. His father is african, and his mother is american. Rod Blago had no right to say that because some blacks haven't grown up poor, many were blessed to have money, some didn't grow up around other blacks. Some didn't live in a small aparment. You know?

It means that things are always going to fall
apart on you, and you have to work constantly
just to stay even with that.
