Shows the water temperature is cold - the engine hasn't heated to to running temperature yet.

I have a scion Xa with same thing, no worries, it is an indicator that your engine coolant is cold. Once your motor hits standard operating temperaure of about 200 degrees fahrenheit, it will go away.

It's no big deal, it just means your engine is a bit cold, if you see it in red that means your engine is to hot and needs to cool down. But to be honest I did a road test in the dead of summer in Phoenix and road it hard, and it didn't even get hot. Since the engine is much smaller, it is able to be cooled much faster and with less power. So unless your running the thing on no oil you will be ok. So no worries. Hope this helps.

Stuart is correct. You don't have to worry about it unless it stays on a lot (car doesn't ever heat up) or the blue one goes out and a red one that looks just like it comes on later, showing the car is over-heating.
