I don't know I like this cubs team. I like the goofy baztard Lou mumbling about the Ivory in the Outfield. I like Jacques Jones, mostly because Cub fans hate him and he is not that bad of a player, to be quite honest. I like that Zambrano, who said "I like to thanks god. Without him, I'm a screw." I like D Lee, class act. Ramirez is a pretty impressive player. I like their minor league system, as a White Sox fan, I'm quite envious of it. I like Theriot and Fontenot. Marmol, most impressive.

And who doesn't like Pie? Pie is good!

Is it wrong that I like this team. Is it wrong that I enjoy watching them play? I mean I still hate cubs' fans and want to see them suffer, but is it morally wrong that I like the 2007 Cubs?

I wouldn't say I'm a fan. I'd never wear the Cubby blue, it just don't feel right. I just like this current team with old man Lou running it.

I'm a Cubs fan, married 14 years to a White Sox fan. I've never understood the concept that if you like one team, you have to hate the other. The 2 teams are not rivals, they are not in the same division, not even in the same league. Yes, they do play 6 games a year, but those games don't mean anything more then any other inter league games. When the Sox won the World Series in 2005, I was very glad for them, for their fans. and for the city of Chicago. Although I am a Cubs fan, more then anything else I appreciate good baseball. You sound like you are similar to me in that respect. Probably you should describe yourself more as a fan of the game that happens to root for the White Sox then a White Sox fan. On both sides of town, 90% of the fans of either team automatically hates the other team. It may be jealousy, it may be frustration over the fact that neither team has had a very succesful history, but the other 10% of the fans of these teams are smart enough to appreciate having 2 teams here. Wear your Sox colors with pride, as I wear my Cibs colors. Chicago needs more intelligent fans like you.

As a Chicago fan, I'd say no, but what do morals have to do with it? Heck i'll be honest, i'm a Sox fan first, but i do like the Cubs because of many reasons. Carlos Zambrano is not one of them. I'm not sure if i hate Cub fans, i just dislike their bitterness towards the Sox winning a World Series. The easiest thing to do is bash another team, so if morals count here, take the high road and like the Cubs.
It's obvious that jayzfan never had 2 teams in one city.

Let's look at the history of the White Sox / Cubs rivalry...
Exhibit A:1908 World Series
Exhibit B: Classic Cubs Pinstipes or the crap my cat threw up that was selected as the Sox logo during the seventies and eighties.
Exhibit C: WGN broadcasts millions of games with Harry Carray at the mike during the eighties and nineties endearing the Cubs to fans around the world.
Exhibit D: WGN broadcasts four games a season for the White Sox with Ken Harrelson at the mike. Popularity of baby seal clubbing rises worldwide.
Exhibit E: White Sox fans don't like Cubs fans because they whine too much.
Exhibit F: Cubs fans don't like Sox fans because they whine too much.

So here's the deal...

The rivalry is baseless and you can cheer for both teams. There are 162 scheduled home games in your city. Embrace the fact that you can go see a good game of baseball every night from April through September. If you are a fan of baseball, you wouldn't give in to this rivalry crap.

Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, a huge Cubs fan for years, publicly rooted for the White Sox in the 2005 World Series, so I guess there is a moral precedent for switching sides when your team is really out of it. And, yes, the White Sox are really out of it. If there were an all Chicago World Series, the White Sox fans and Cubs fans might start a mini-civil war.

Hey I'm a die hard Yankee fan but I'm rooting for the Cubs on the national league side. Id love to see the Yankees face em in the world series and the Cubs lose again of course, but if the Yankees don't make it, I'd root for the Cubs.

Unless they are going head to head or a Cubs win hurts the White Sox in the standings, why not like both teams. I'm a Giants fan, but I see nothing wrong with liking the A's as well.

Now being a Mets fan and liking the Yankees might be classified as a mental illness - but that could be said for anyone that like the Yankees.

Hell yes it's wrong. If you were a true White Sox fan you like all of us would hate the Cubs every year no matter what. I can't stand the love able loser rep. Or that if your from Chicago you must be a Cubs fans or that all there non-employed alcoholic fans (who else drinks while attending every day game) are considered better then White Sox fans because they suck with there team. The White Sox were in a drought almost as long as the Cubs have been plus all the fringe fans in Chicago love the Cubs because that's who it cool to root for. Mets fans in NY and Angles fans in LA know exactly what I talking about. Plus Wrigley field is a dumb but it's in the nice part of town so it's a great all park. Here's to the Cubs going another century without a World Series and like the shirts you buy at Comiskey (US Cellular but we refuse to call it that) say Cuck the Fubs.

I'm a Braves fan and a Cards fan when they're not playing eachother of course then I root for the Braves - so I can't see anyone in their right mind pulling for the Cubs - resist the temptation it's kind of like hooking up with an ugly person, you might feel really good about it right now but you'll hate yourself in the morning.....

No. What is morally wrong is rooting for the White Sux in the first place. You are making a great move by leaving the dark side and going to the Light

not at all...i am a die hard cubs fan...i bleed cubbie blue and in the 05 season in a drunken confession i admitted to everyone that i wanted them to win...but my best friend is a sox fan and i watch the games with her, i've come to like players like pods, buehrle, konerko, dye. It's not morally wrong its just an all around enjoyment for baseball.
