do a good basic tune up on it,chances are it hasn't been tuned up in a while, and it would help it,those wasn't the best on gas,but they wasn't the worse either, try tuning it,and using good gas in it,you,ll never get the worlds best mileage from that one, good luck on it.

I just bought a 2002 325i. It seems that I waste most gas makign those small trips. Also, whenever I accelerate at a high rate, something you can't really choose not to do in the 'Unltimate Driving Machine,' I see the gas lever go down a significant amount. Someone also mentioned to me somethign about chekcing out a computer. I did not quite understand. My problem is not paying for the gas, my problem is having to go to the gas station more than I go to Wal-Mart!

The best way to minimize gas consumption is to limit unnecessary trips. Another helpful tip is when she would go to gas station to gas up, tell her to have her bmw full tank. The more gas inside the tank, the less air can occupy; consequently the gas consumption is reduced. If the tank is not full, the great volume of air inside the tank can aggravate fast consumption of fuel.

Tell her to get her foot out of it and drive sensibly. But then who buys a BMW to drive sensibly. Wait until she has to pay the high cost of maintenance on that bimmer. Gas cost will no longer be an issue. Been there done that.

You can afford a BMW then complain about gas. You don't worry about gas if you drive a BMW.
