There wasn't a reason to evacuate for the hurricane. As your paste states, Katrina missed N.O. The sudden flood from the levee caused the damage.
But the federal government is not a first responder. It was the responsibility of local and state government to take care of the victims.

A lot less than would have gotten out if Nagin had released the school buses that just sat there while people died. He's going to run for governor next. I hope the people have enough sense to make this clown go away.

What are you babbling about? No one blames the victims, I just don't see Nagan as a victim. He is an oppurtunistic, racist poitician who quickly diverted the blame to Bush so his many foul ups wouldn't get noticed. He got scared and did what liberals are so fond of doing... he passed the blame along to Bush.

i know people who lived in New Orleans, and rented, and they got $20,000.00, (twenty thousand dollars),.....and did not loose a thing,.....the word was out to leave,....but the people did not want to leave,.....a lot of people decided to ride out the storm,.....that was a big mistake,.....
