Sometimes, when i open my PC, the monitor will not respond or it will really not open and everything is black but the CPU is working. Sometimes, i was able to open it but after an hour or so, the PC will either restart or the monitor will turn off. im sure tht its not due to temperature. Sometimes, when i open my PC, instead of 1 beep (as a sign tht the PC i open), im hearing 3 beeps and nothing appears on my monitor and everytime tht happens, im turning it off. I just bought the monitor one month ago. Please help me.....

Against everyone else, I would not say monitor or video card cuz you said it happened before you got both new monitor and card, so the logical reason would be wiring, update your bios, and also update all your drivers. I just can't see it being monitor or card when it happened with old and new, what are the odds, you might want to play the lotto.

Need more info about the monitor. Type and so forth. You may have a graphics card installed on the comp and that can cause it or if you are running to Operating systems that may cause it as the Primary system doesn't recognize the card or drivers for monitor. Most monitors if not all are plug and play though so it's probably something in your system. Give us some more info about the monitor.

If your computer beep 3 times, then most properly is the video card having problem. The sound indicate the motherboard cannot detect the video card.

From what you say, I think you need to change your video card.

Possibly:

1) Bad monitor
2) Bad Video card
3) Loose memory card

If you can borrow a monitor from someone, you might be able to narrow it down. Likewise, have someone check that all your cards are seated tight.

it's either the new monitor has a short in the cable, is bad altogether or the videocard is bad in the computer.

It could be your video card overheating or it could be your power supply
