Ron Paul can't run a corner drug store, much less the Executive Branch.
How successful has he been in getting his proposals through Congress, where they belong?
Not very? yep...and you think he'll do better in the White House, where he has to run the Executive Branch?

Although I agree with the fact that Ron Paul would want to do the right things as a president, it is not possible in this enviroment(politics)!!!! There are too many people in power in DC(congress and many people behind the scences) that like it just the way it is!!!!! If someone like Ron Paul actually got close to being elected I think something would happen to him. It would not be in the best interest of the ruling elite for someone actually care about the general population. Also on the dems side Mike Gravel would be somewhat similar. So MSM will do their best to just talk about the elite candidates(who happen to be the wealty ones).

Well, keep in mind that it isn't Fox News that's trashing Ron Paul. It's Hannity. Whatever you think of Sean Hannity (I personally can't stand him) he's confrontational, a conservative extremist and has no patience for anyone who disagrees with him. He sees Ron Paul (my choice for president) as a confusing enigma and was visibly confused and, I believe, pretty angry that Paul had such a good showing. That's not Fox. That's Hannity.
Also keep in mind that none of the major news networks are taking Ron Paul seriously. Mainly because he refuses to be anyone's lap dog. That's the kind of quality that would make for a great president - but not the type of thing that will keep him in the public eye. It's up to us, the voters, to keep the flame burning because the media certainly won't do anything to help.

The corporate media, of which FOX is part of, as is MSNBC, does not want Ron Paul to receive any national exposure. The reasons for their rejection of him is well listed in the answers above. He is not indebted to Corporate America, he owes them NO favors. They will do everything in their power to defeat him. THEY WILL SUCCEED! Corporate America & the money they represent has a throat hold on this country's political system. They own 99% of the representatives in congress. That is the reason rep Ron paul never had his voice heard in congress. Too much corporate influence. Too much money being pocketed by our members of congress, too many gifts, too many paid for vacations. My feeling is there is a lot of sleeze in congress. The American people are sooo fed-up with these do nothing congresses but they keep sending the same people that have been sticking it up their wazoo for years back to congress with every election. I would love to see Ron Paul capture the republican nomination. I would vote for him.

The corporations buying advertising time on Fox want Ron Paul to lose.
Thus far, 47% of the contributions made to Ron Paul's campaign are donations of under $200 from individuals (John McCain's 17% is the second-highest percentage). This is a telling statistic, as it highlights the fact that most other candidates rely heavily upon donations from corporate interests and political action committees (PACs) (i.e. moneyed, influence-seeking sources who can readily afford to contribute large sums). Since Congressman Paul has always voted against special favors and privileges for anyone, special interests know they have nothing to gain by stuffing Ron Paul's campaign coffers. As one member of my local Meetup group put it on a home-made sign, "Ron Paul is thin because he won't let special interests buy him lunch."

i really don't know that much about ron paul as yet other than those who support him here on YA....they seem to be a bit paranoid and passionate to the point of being kinda scary to me. i am not trying to be rude or insulting it is just something that i have observed over the last few weeks.
i am still trying to determine who to vote for rather than against. i really don't care for any of the choices as yet but am keeping an open mind. we still have a long way to go before nov 2008

Ron, I think the world of you and your candidacy. Your election would bring a fresh approach to government that has been missing since Truman.
However, your slamming Fox News only gives those who fear your trip to the White House more ammunition with which to slow down that journey.

This is an example of what Fox News IS. A joke.
