Your computer may be slow. Or the game may need more memory than you have, that is very common. Is your computer doing anything else while you are playing?

Of all of the one's answered.. I agree with Viveka Z the most.
1.) It isn't always your RAM... although it could be the problem
2.) It could be your processor isn't fast enough
3.) Check to see if other requirements are met - i.e. Video Card, Sound Card, etc....
The box that your game came in should show you the specs for playing that game... processing speed, ram, etc... check to make sure that you computer has at least the requirements.

One of three things.
A) If your computer is making a beep, it's your motherboard. This can be a hassle to 'fix', as you most likely have to install a whole new motherboard.
B) Your computer is just slow. It might not be able to play the games. If this only happens on new games, it's probably this. Make sure you install your newest drivers for your graphics card and such.
C) You have a virus or lots and lots of spyware. This is a lot like B, but you can solve it by running SpyBot Search & Destroy, and also a good antivirus like Kaspersky.

This can be one of two things. You may need a better video / graphics card (preferably 256mb or higher) or you may need more ram. Check these 2 things out!
Good Luck!!
