There are 10 deciliters in 1 Liter. So if you have 5 deciliters and you want to convert to liters just divide 5 by 10 =
0.5 Liters.

Deci = 1/10th of something in metric.
10 deciliters = 1 liter.
Deca = 10 of something (like 'decade' = 10 years)
1 decaliter = 10 liters.

there are 10 deciliters in a liter.
and just for a little extra help remember this rhyme for the prefixes like kilo, cenit, milli, etc. they are in order so just count to see where to move the decimal place.
"King Henry Died Monday Drinking Chocholate Milk." the M in monday is supposed to be meters but grams or whatever works too.

I'm learning about that same thing!
It goes:
Kilo- Hecto- Deka- *Liter* Deci- Centi- Milli-
When you convert decileters to liters you move back 1 step on the 'line' in order, so you move the decimal one spot back..Exp: 40 decileters, then move the decimal one step back because liters is one before decileters, the decimal would be after the 0 in 40 since it's a whole number, so the answer would be 4.0.. if the number was 0.76 and you needed to convert, move the decimal one back so it would turn out to be 0.076
If you needed to convert Kiloliters to liters, then the liters is 3 steps forward, so you would place the decimal 3 spots forward..example: 17.0, you would move the decimal 3 places forward, so it would turn out 17,000..if it was 0.92 then it would turn out 920
Hope this helps =)

Just think: "king henry died monday drinking chocolate milk". It stands for "kilo hecto deco meter (liter) deci centi milli". There are 10 deciliters in every liter.
k h d m d c m
If you go from left to right, the amount grows smaller by 10.
If you go from right to left, the amount grown bigger by 10.
Hope that helped.

In metric system, you have to know what the prefixes mean.
In order, from largest to smallest, these are equal
1 Liter
10 deciliters
1000 milliliters (also 1000 cubic centimeters)
1,000,000 microliter

First, take the cube root, then multiply this by itself, twice. Then take the partial derivative of your left big toe over dx/dy. Finally, LOOK IT UP IN A DICTIONARY!
