If you have recovery CD's, they can restore your computer to the condition it was when it was new. If not, you probably should talk to a repairman.

Yeah, there are a few options you can boot into windows via safemode which will only load the very basic and essential window elements. Keep pressing F5 to do this.

You can use you Windows XP boot disk to go into recovery console by booting from the cdrom and then pressing R at the petitions.

Third you can use a generic boot disk. You can download these and other utilites at bootdisk.com

Good Luck!

If you want it to be a Windows machine, this is pretty easy.

If you're installing XP, boot it up with the XP CD and tell it that you want to install. It will give you the choice to reformat the hard drive. Choose that.

The rest will be pretty self explanatory.

Boot to your Windows CD and select the option to install Windows. Format the hard drive when you get to that part of the installation. This will erase everything on it.
