Some people say Israel is our ally. Let us see can we all name a war where the Israelis were killed for America.

Some say Israel is an American democracy. Israel is the only republic in the world living without a written constitution.
http://www.exposingisraeliapartheid.com/
Many are saying in clouding the former President of the U.S. Jimmy Carter we back Israel only because of the existence of the most powerful lobby in the USA the Israeli lobby.USA finance Israel : http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l265/c...
Do Americans back Israeli occupation of other people I do not think so. Israeli leaders want to keep occupying land that was never part of Israel.

Because Israel has a lot of economic clout in the USA. Jewish Americans are more concerned with their religion, and their 'homeland' than they are about the USA. The USA is viewed as a tool to these people and they have a lot of control over things. Do you realize how many politicians are Jewish compared to the percentage of Jewish people in the country? It's quite a mismatch. Government doesn't nearly reflect any minority enough while it is surplussed with Jewish politicians. Anyway, the other reason is, people tend to associate Jewish values with Christian values which is doing no justice to either they are both different. Also, most people who emigrated to Israel when it was established did so from European countries and they mostly have light skin, which makes them seem more like European Americans than the rest of the people in the middle east who never left there because they have darker skin. So, they all seem different to a majority of the USA except the good ole Israelis who seem just as normal as apple pie to us.
They are not an allie in the middle east they are a liability. If we didn't care about what happened in Israel, we wouldn't be in Iraq right now, and there's several angles to support that.

Because... the U.S.has a long history of supporting (at all cost) Democracies. In the Middle East, Isarael is one of the few true democracies..
That' the main reason whay they get support...
Then... follow that up with a strong lobby in the U.S. from Jewish groups, and the Christians that WANT Israel to be free and intact, since it gives them easy access to the holy land, and lines up with statements in the Bible.
Additionally, Israli politicians are also very good at doing what's required to keep the support intact...

anyone who thinks the USA backs the Israelis is because they have a democracy is quite frankly niave.
The USA all through latin america and abroad has helped groups to over through fairly elected governments because that government is not pro- US
Look at Hugo Chavez, the guy was elected fairly in free elections but the US backed an over throwing of his government through monetry channels
The US looks out for its self and only its self

Real nice "ally"; Israel kills our citizens (Rachel Corrie) and blows up our ships (U.S.S Liberty). Oh, and that ever-popular quote from former Israeli PM Ariel Sharon: "We own the Americans, and they know it."
It's sad to see the brainwashed people here on YA, and I'm not expressing any "prejudiced BS", only what I know for absolute facts. If you don't believe that Zionists (supported by the right-wing Christians fascists in power) run this country, then please obtain a copy of the book "They Dare to Speak Out" by former U.S. Congressman Paul Findlay, to see how deeply Zionism has entwined its tentacles into our government.
Edit: GREAT response, Eldude!

Because there are too many fake Jews called obsessed radical Zionists, who believe their mission will ultimately bring about Armageddon and convert all Jews to Christianity. Probably they are disappointed that their forefathers failed to kill every Jew and so they probably think they have found the ripe time to continue their forefathers' mission. Hey, why are they promoting wars in the Middle East despite US money and weapons are gradually falling into the hands of those who are at war with Israel? Think Israel will be safe when all thse radical Islamists are being trained with US technology and US money and weapons are flowing into their nations and are reported missing?
Heard of Zeev Rosenstein, the infamous Israeli mafia boss and one of the world's biggest distributors of Ecstasy, who was caught in Florida?

Ever wonder how he is using his money made from selling illegal drugs in the US?

We've stuck our necks out for them to this point. It would be rude to turn our backs on them now. We really have put an awful lot on the line for Israel. Pretty kind gesture considering the thanks we get for it.
Not backing them would be a sign of admitting that we may have been wrong about a thing or 2.
--be careful how you word things, sara. I'm sure Hitler was under the impression that Jews were secretly running Germany.

First, Israel is the only liberal democracy in that region of the world and one of our strongest supporters. Second, Israel was created for the Jews who were nearly annihilated during the Holocaust. Since their creation the dictatorships throughout the middle east have tried to annihilate them again. The United States will not stand for it.
That is, except for Jimmy Carter, the UFO spotter.
