We have failed once again!" Do the liberals get all giddy and want to throw a parade? Their media just can't wait to announce new death tolls, especially when they reach a hundreth or better yet a thousand mark meanwhile failing to report the incredible things our troops are doing. Of course they claim to support them... so why are they so proud and quick to say we are losing and we will never win.... before the conflict is even over? (do I smell de ja vu?)

Coragryph.... since you are one of the few on the other side that didn't rant on with a name calling childish answer and one who didn't need it explained to you I'll address your post.

I don't have too much of a problem reporting the death toll. It is the way it is done. It is not in a respectful manner and it certainly does not honor their deaths. It is reported with almost an upbeat ferver as most of these people are against the war to begin with. And to say US troops are dying without much being accomplished is just uninformed. Look at history. There are fewer American deaths in a conflict of this length than any other war. We ousted an evil dictator... we did declare war on terrorism and to those who harbor them. You are mistaken when you think we are at war with Iraq or that we need to declare war in Iraq to call it a war. The war was declared on terrorism. We are not fighting the Iraqi people, we are fighting terrorist. They fact that they flood across the border

into Iraq to battle the idea of freedom is the reason we are still in Iraq. We don't just leave countries in impossible situations like we did in Vietnam. There is incredible progress but you never see the media reporting it. I see "big Lib" leaders like Harry Reid and Hillary throwing our troops and country under the bus on a daily basis.

Grab a clue liberals... conservatives do not like seeing our troops at war. But conservatives will take a stand and fight evil... even when you choose to run. It is a hard job and the loss is great. The reward is a changed world if we actually would back our troops and give them the support they need. I'm glad our forefathers stood for freedom and didn't give upwhen they were freezing and dying in Valley Forge. Many lost their lives in horrible conditions... but they understood what it was for and I'm sure there were very few who told them their efforts weren't worth it.

Cantcu....

The reason you don't succeed is due to your "can't do" atitude. No WMD's... aren't you sick of being set straight on this matter? Why when you are shown proof do you continue to spout lies? How is it you still think WMD's is the sole reason for going into Iraq? England stands behind their intelligence to this day. I'm sure you won't look at these links so you can still walk around in a fog... but here they are...

Apparently, the liberals have accepted the notion that war is never necessary - regardless of the provocation or possible consequences of policies that allow a group to indiscriminately slaughter thousands of innocent people in the name of an ideology of hatred, religious fanaticism and domination with pretty much impunity.
They "support" the troops by constantly undermining their mission as well as the war. The have no problem with throwing the people who have supported us under the bus - once again - and that is surly "de ja vu."

Well the war has long been over and USA won. What you are talking about is the Military Occupation of Iraq.

The conservatives want to keep using the term "war" because 1) it is considered unpatriotic to not support an actual war 2) war gets people emotional and hence easily led and controlled 3) get the populace used to war and its terms to desensitize so they can keep launching war after war to get elected into office.

as far as liberals go they are weak pansies that cannot do anything even with a Majority in Congress.

conservatives and liberals should all be destroyed so that the Moderates are left with a clean country

Liberals have thrown our president, his administration, his perception, the troops, American dignity, and the military action THEY voted for right under the bus for politics and by now it got caught on the read axle and is currently dragging in the mud.

Our liberal media IS horrible. But Im more ashamed that people like Nancy Pelosi, Dick Derbin, Carl Levin, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and even some republicans still have a job. They are as much a failure to their oaths of office as they are a disgrace to the cause of freedom and fighting tyranny.

coragryph is right, Congress never officially declared war, they only authorized the military engagement of Iraq. That being said, it is still a war. It is an undeclared war. It was called the War in Iraq until Bush was caught in a lie about the weapons of mass destruction. Then the whole war was not to use the military to defend its country, it was to free the Iraqi people. Hence you only see Operation Iraqi Freedom instead of the War in Iraq on the news.

And of course (DUH!) they are going to say we will never win before the conflict is over. If the conflict was over than they would state whether we won or lost. The point they are trying to make is that we are not gaining enough ground with the war to justify the lives lost as the result of our occupation of Iraq.

Edit: Ninja Rabbit: How dare you complain that the news reports say it was the worst day in "X" amount of months! If 1 person died in Iraq it would be a terrible day! You sicken me with your opinion and your logic. Fox news says the same thing every time they cover the events of Iraq. If you try to tell me now that Fox is run by Liberals I think I will cry.

Edit: That picture does not represent liberals. That is like sayin Fred Phelps and his "church" (www.godhatesfags.com) represent all conservatives. Oh and don't think their signs were any less disrespectful than the ones in the picture. ALL people that treat soldiers in this way sicken me, Liberals, Conservatives, Democrats, and Republicans alike. It doesn't matter what your beliefs are, you just have to have human compassion and empathy.

You misunderstand both the statement and the intent.

The death tolls are to keep American attention on the fact that US troops are dying, without much (if anything) being accomplished, but at a huge cost. That's because of the fact that most Americans have a short attention span.

As far as "losing the war" -- that's a meaningless concept.

First, we're not at war. Congress never declared war. The US isn't fighting any war. So, there is no war to lose.

Second, the military occupation of Iraq is just that -- an occupation of another country that is itself engaged in a civil war. But the US is not one of the sides in that civil war.

Talking about the US winning in Iraq is like talking about an umpire winning a baseball game, or a referee winning a football match. It's a meaningless concept.

The conservative-biased media in this country celebrates the Iraqi 'war' as if it's some kind of patriotic gesture about power, strength and superiority. They tout the casualties as badges of honor, when - in fact - our valiant U.S. soldiers give up their lives so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers can become wealthier and more powerful.
There is no 'war' to win because this is an unconstitutional 'war' that was never declared by Congress. It is an illegal, unjustified, immoral attack on another foreign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States (but that seems to be the only kind of 'fight' cons like...one where they can bully their way about and act tough without any real opposition).
This stupid, insane 'war' is all about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Hussein and Georgie Boy was selected to be President so he could 'settle the score'. Add to that Cheney's covetousness over all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands and two 'newcomers' to the the giant U.S. military-industrial complex that needed to belly up to the government's war trough: the Carlyle Group and Halliburton BOTH had direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House, and BOTH corporations have made obscene profits from the blood of 675,000 Iraqis and 3,700 U.S. soldiers. Bush lied to Congress, deceived the American people, and conned our troops into believing there was an honorable cause behind his 'war'. There is no such badge of honor...only blood-stained, oil-soaked hands of greedy, evil, wicked, arrogant cretins who deserve to be hanged just as they arranged to hang Hussein. May God damn them all - including the arrogant, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Republican-led Congress that stood by and allowed Bush to run rip shod over our Constitution AND the just-as-arrogant, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Democratic-led Congress that promised to end this 'war' if we elected them.
Surely Satan has a special corner of Hell reserved for all of these murderers. -RKO- 08/28/07

Is reality just too harsh for you. It is not that they cannot wait to report death tolls but that is the REALITY people are DYING. Sure our troops are giving their lives,,,every day. God bless them. BUT What progress is being made? Besides what George Bush and his followers are saying i do not hear any War strategy annalists who were critics of the war loosening up and starting to praise it. Why are we so quick to say we are loosing...BECAUSE WE ARE NOT DOING SO GREAT. BRUCE L. look at my last question...you do not call this ....propaganda. Be serious....just watch those commercials! You want to fight the enemy? Well we have let them slip into Pakistan now. What about Al Qaeda? Aren't they the biggest threat since they are back to pre-9/11 strengths? This has been confirmed by the CIA.

If you had not started a war over nothing then your question would be moot, wouldn't it?

Name me one person who gets giddy? Saddam is Dead, there WERE NO WMD's, and they are in compliance with the UN resolutions. Seems to me your authorization has expired!

I am not going to turn war into a feel good thing for you because there is NOTHING GOOD about it. If you were ever in one you would know that! The troops don't think the generals or the administration has a grasp on the reality of Iraq and are feeding you BS! THEY AREN'T THE ONES DIEING!!!

WHY ARE WE THERE? Give me one reason, and don't say democracy!

If you think for 1 second that the US is going to win a military victory in Iraq dream on! The entire Middle East is the recruiting grounds for those involved an a sectarian civil war!

JUST HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU ROTATE SOMEONE BACK TO IRAQ? YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR GOING ON 5 YEARS! You are going to have a mutiny! The Army already has so many deserters they stopped looking for them and 99 kids killed themselves this year!

You are some sick people if you think there is ANY reason we should be there having kids sent back in body bags EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!

I really don't care about your corporate welfare, all of it IS DEBT, for the Iraq war. And I don't care if Exxon gets there 2 million barrels of oil this month!

Gas was $1.46 a gallon when Bush was elected. Hasn't seemed to have done us any good!

The administration and military will lie to you often. This is a perfect case! A feel good lie!

Do you feel that those who died are insignificant? Why shouldn't the death toll be announced? You can't "win" a war like this--we aren't looking to take over land or stop communists and nazis this time. We took down Iraq's leader, and now there's a country that can't take care of itself in any meaningful way. How long do you want to 'babysit' this country?
