Why does the GOP equate itself with Christianity?

I fail to see any resemblance at all.

Because that is where a majority of their funding comes from. And if they do not hold strictly to those Christian principles then they run the risk of losing election campaign dollars.

I find it funny how just because you are a democrat means you automatically get stuck with the athiest "sticker". I am a moderate democrat, and a Christian.

I love the fact that a Republican will "shun" a Democratic candidate based on their stance on abortion. Pro-lifers will state that abortion is in effect murder. Which I will not argue with, but at the same time, what is going on in Iraq and Afghanistan (and soon to be Iran)? We've got innocent lives being butchered. Some by U.S. bombs aiming at other targets, some by road side suicide bombers, and others by the new terrorists we managed to dig up while we invaded their country. Or, for a good example here at home, how about the atrocious response to Hurricane Katrina. Do you realize people down there are still dying from that disaster?

I just think it irresponsible to say that GOP voters are the only Christians out there. It just simply isn't true.

Because the largest blocks of Christian voters who support a single party based on religious grounds support the GOP based on the Republican conservative social agenda.

It's a claim based on who supports them, not how they act.

Because most of us believe in God and have Morals! Liberals do every thing they can to eliminate God from every thing. Personally I think that is why God gave Liberals such little brains! Which is why they have to lie so much
