As a college professor, I appreciate that you are so conscientious that you are worried about this, but I can absolutely guarantee you that it will have no impact whatsoever on your ability to get into any college in the country. Unless you have been convicted of major crimes, no one looks at your behavioral record at all.

It will not negatively effect your admissions to UCF. Colleges use your transcripts (which don't include dean's referrals) to sort out the applications. Maintaining a good record until graduation will minimize any impact this has on your application.

No, it's not that big of a deal. It's actually a pretty small occurance. UCF won't reject you because of an incident that occured only once, and did not largely affect your ability to learn.

I am torn here.
On the one hand, I want to reassure you that the fact that you forgot to turn your cell phone off will not affect your getting accepted into college.
But on the other hand, I want to tell you that you are an idiot to think it would -- and that may affect your chances.
Do you really think that college admissions officers are so petty to deny your entrance due to that? Do you really think that getting a one day detention will go on your record? Do you really think that the people who write letters for you to go into college will include this one slight thing in their letter?
Seriously -- don't give it another thought. After your detention, it won't matter to anyone.

Dude, I got suspended multiple times for fighting and got into an exclusive liberal arts college. Just be a National Merit Scholar, and a lot gets overlooked.

no it's not big deal >_> Unless you got caught cheating the you will have a bad school report and it might affect your application. Don't worry to much. I got my cellphone ringing when I was in highschool and I am in university now. Goodluck with your dreams

Maybe this is a WAKE UP CALL.
The fact that you are worried about this incident affecting your future demonstrates that you do not have a grasp on the bigger picture.
Volunteer in an ER or homeless shelter.

Most likely the colleges will never hear of this happening. It won't show up in your transcript. Just don't get your letter of recommendation from that teacher if you're that worried about it.
No it's not that bad

That should not keep you out of college at all because it is the first time and only time it happened
