I have finally decided that I want to get a Platy for my tank! I breed guppies, and I have 7 adults, 14 babies, and 1 algae eater in a 20 gallon tank. My tank is SO boring with just guppies swimming around in it, so I decided to get a Platy. My question is, should I get one, or two? Please answer!

One Platy will survive on it's own but they like to be kept in groups. You should definitely get 2 of them. I suggest 2 females unless you want to breed them.

Platies are fun. :) One or two... that depends on whether you want them to breed or not! Well, you could get two males. The females are pretty much guaranteed pre-hit. Actually, if you decide to get two, you really should get two of the same gender. If you're going to mix genders, it's safest to get more and go with 2-3 females for every male, same as your guppies.

get two because the Platys and the guppies will avoid each other

With Livebearers it's better to get trios(one male, two females)to avoid the male constantly pestering a lone female(it's a good idea with Guppies too).

Two would be better than one. Also, you could even breed platies,
