First one. Looks more elegant and nice. The second one looks bubbly and stuff.
Besides, "Kinetic" clocks are tricky, and when they die, they die, unless they're mixed power, and even then. And I have a clock whose battery has lasted several years, and it's a cheap clock.
Oh, and I say that your boyfriend is very lucky, but for different reasons...

The 2nd one is your best bet. It's a pain in the butt to have to go and have batteries changed for your watch, and I'm sure your boyfriend will like not having to do so. Wow, your boyfriend is going to be happy!!

I love the first one! It just looks sharper.
So he'll have to replace a battery once a year, so what? Less than 10 minutes, and less than 10 bucks.

they are both quite similar, and you can barely tell a difference. I would recommend the second one, no batteries seems quite nice. but i am sure ur boyfriend would luv either one, especially since u got it for him.

I like the 2nd one because of how it looks.
For someone who is very active, you want to make sure a self-winding watch cannot get overwound.
