Would you just rock it in school, or would you get some cheap school basics for fear of looking unapproachable and like you're putting on airs?

(And I'm not talking about mall expensive like Hollister, I mean designer)

In my community it's a blue collar town. I would immediately be judged whether positively or negatively, because I stand out. So what would YOU do in this situation?

And I don't need to explain why I have nice clothing in the area I live in. There are plenty of possible reasons why.

always own a mixture. not designer and cheap but just designer and then some casual. wearing high end things 24/7 is crass and show-offy.. and no one wants to be friends with a show off.
but there is a clear difference between people who wear nice things just to show off, and people who wear it simply because they like it. how approachable someone is totally depends on they way they carry themselves.

i like to buy designer clothing with no outside labels. that way you can wearing nice clothes all the time without looking too superficial.

Why are you buying all that fancy stuff, in a mostly blue collar town? Save it for college.
Add some noticably run of the mill brands, like Levi, AE, whatever most of the kids wear. Get some of the stuff the designers didn't make [ eyelet skirts, etc. ]
Add some skechers, vans, whatever the popular sneaker is.
Don't wear really expensive jewelry, etc.
Good luck!

Don't wear anything with the logo or name printed on it- that would just look like you're showing off. If you wear designer clothes that aren't obvious, people will notice you dress well, but won't be able to make assumptions about how much your clothes cost.

By expensive looking do you mean like, logos everywhere? I hate logos so I don't wear them, but most of my clothes are pretty expensive. I think if you have it, wear it, but don't be a brat about it.

If you make a big deal about what you're wearing, so will everyone else.

Go for the designer clothes. Show off. I, personally, like to get closer to people that I;m jealous of, so it's probably a good way to make friends.

if your in school dont worry, its when you go to work that you need to worry about first impressions, and even then you dont need designer clothes just basic colors and styles or even look up classic looks ones that do not go out of style. you dont need to spend alot of money to look nice.

I dress sort of simple, but I wear what I want to and not let people judge me for it.

wear what you want, if some people find they don't wanna approach you due to that, then they would be good friends in the first place. dress how you feel. it's your world

I don't care if I look approachable, I'm going to wear whatever I want.
But you wear what you think looks good on you, don't try to look cheap or rich.
