Oh yes...think of it as a season in your life and not a fanality....it is a sign of your body telling you to stress less and rest...take a out of the ordinary experience....go somewhere new...do something new...stimulate your senses with a walk in the woods...or at a beach..be kind to yourself and know this too shall pass....Blessings...

That's a good and bad place to be. If we are outside 'ourselves' in the sense that we go back to our awareness, the true you, we are removed and observer of our thoughts and feeling. This is actually what we are anyway. From there, supposedly, we have the option of getting into our feelings or not taking them too seriously, as we shouldn't. It's like being on the computer and not being the computer, then we are in control and not controlled by every emotion or thought passing by. Disassociation in psychology is supposed to be very bad and should be checked into by a professional, life or our thoughts overwhelm. It's good to be able to go to different states of mind, the problem is getting stuck there or spiraling downward instead of upward to enlightenmet and higher consciousness. If you realize you can have feelings and then retreat again you have a safe place to go to. If you don't come back because the only feeling you feel are painful, that's not super. Here's the deal with emotions. All those negative emotions are mostly unreal. It is really a large amount of neutral energy on a negative thought, no matter how trivial or only slightly true the thought. The good news is, that's no fun, so a positive thought is more attractive. When we focus on a positve thought, knowing full well that all that neutral energy will come over on to the positive thought, it does and we're happy. Science now says pain is concentrated negative thought. Pleasure then is concentration on a positive thought. I concentrate on the smallest non-threatiening thing around me and feel immediate relief and spiral up. It produces the pain killers and happy chemicals, morphins. Medication can help you switch back and positive becomes the new predominant mind set, if you embrace the attitudes it can produce. You have to be rested though. Doing two simple things for maintenance. Use only positive and descriptive words. As you can see, you can't think and feel negative with positive words. The descriptive words are more accurate, scientific and unbiased, non-judgmental. Paradoxically you have better judgment, it's not pre-judgment. In science the first step is to not be non-judgmental and let the facts speak for themselves. Oh, and love everything, forgive so you can love. It's for you. Any questions? A good comparison is when you sleep your absolutely disassociated. When your awake your totally awake. Getting between and more toward sleep is not good while driving. Being totally awake at points in the day is fun. Being too alert all day is exhausting, we strike a balance going up and relaxing when we're too tense. You can work those two, relax to get energy back and get involved for fun, if your really involved things are easy and fun. There's some free e-books on these things on www. trans4mind com. Skip around in the book "Emotional Intelligence" and take what you find useful, that's a key topic. You might look at my other answers.

Yes and these are the times when we are learning and going down a narrow road. There are things to be dealt with and we have a choice whether we deal to it or not. They don't go away they just go round the merry go round and pop up again. Probably because we feel at the time like there is little we can do to change it. We must make the first move in the direction and be honest about the situation to others and ourselves or we are drowning our ambitions don't become potentials in certain areas. Its the past that got us here today and the presence will take us to the future. Things only grow in the light. Just remember all our problems are short comings and don't last long.

Rowdysunseta makes a lot of sense.
I wish I could feel emotionally numb!!!
It's a mental/emotional defense mechanism, I believe.
It sounds like you're stressed beyond what your mind can deal with.
Your mind is overloaded and you need to take care of yourself.
Give yourself the attention you need; it may be through seeing a professional or not; this is your choice.
Step away, relax, gain some perspective on things. What makes you laugh; have good distractions, exercise, family if you can tolerate them, friends, vacation, get out of the house; read.
Remember all that made you feel good and re-instate it in your life a little at a time.
One day at a time; it's true.

I Corinthians 10:12 "Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate God-confidence."
Jeremiah 29:11-12 "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. "When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen."
I John 5:14 "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us."
Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right;
Do what's best— as above, so below.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.
You're in charge!
You can do anything you want!
You're ablaze in beauty!
Yes. Yes. Yes.
I came across these verses today, and for some reason they meshed with each other... Our God-confidence gives us a hope and a future. When we pray, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God DOES answer, and HE listens! He can do anything He wants, but His will always furthers His Kingdom.

Solders will relate this experience before going into combat or thinking they are going into combat.
Those who are subjected to abnormally high levels of stress exhibit similar symptoms. After the experience is over they may relive the experience triggered by something that reminds them of similar events about to happen.
Stress can do it my friend. You might want to check up on it just to be on the safe side. things like this are often leading to or accompany depression, deep, serious depression.
Your emotions are telling you to be alert, something is amiss. See your local mental health guy or The VA Hospital, that's where I go.
Could be nothing much. Humor me. Good luck, God Bless

That's how I feel right now, in fact.
I'm usually passionate about a bunch of things. I'm known for how driven I am. I usually care about academic pursuits, about current events. I used to be the debater, the writer.
Now, the only motivation in life for me is to sleep. It's the only beautiful thing to me. Sad, isn't it?
