Not if you gave them the address and pass word, and probably not even if you did not. Just create a new e-mail account and do not give pass word to any one, after about 90 days old e-mail address will become inactive if its not used and then be deleted.
You can send new e-mail address to all your friends after you set up new one.
Hope this helps

Why would they care ? A. For very long B. And to what end?
Honestly from day one, several years ago when I got an email address I gave my sister permission to use it since i didn't even have a computer. On occasion when I did use it I'd get on a few sights here and there and didn't seem to care much who or why anyone would get the address. Well, over a couple years period my sister would tell me once in a while, "Paul, you need to clean out your Email. I said, "Okay", but I'd never do it. When it got up[ to around 3,000 emails sent I thought to myself," Who cares how many Emails pile up. It's easy to skim down the page and see if it's important or not"
Since then, about a year ago Yahoo made unlimited space for emails. I noticed my sister quit telling me I should 'weed out' the junk emails.
I think she caught on- you can't possibly keep up with all of the crap people send. So don't waste your time. Anyone who is so uptight about their little email organizing has less problems than most, I assure you!

Well if they break into your e-mail address and use your password it is illegal....
If they are just having junk mail sent to your e-mail address the most that you could sue them for is harassment but that is extremely iffy.
On the whole I don't think you could bring it into a court unless the volume of spam was incredibly massive.

No, If you read the privocy policy from your email provider you will see it is a federal offense if someone else pretends to be you through your email or uses your email and gives it away without your knowledge.

Probably, but it would be extremely difficult to catch them at it.
