7/[6x^2r ] + 10/[3xr^2]

In order to add fractions, the denominators must be the same. So:

[6x^2r ] / [3xr^2] = 2x/r
so you must multiply the second term by [(2x/r)/(2x/r)] which is just 1 and does not change it's value to get the same denominator. So using this:

7/[6x^2r ] + ( 20x/r)/[6x^2r] = (7 + 20x/r)/[6x^2r ]

Are you sure the second term should not be 3x^2r? that seems a little better for Algebra 1.
