If it is safe, how many minutes do you require for me to rest my body before taking a warm bath?

Heat does not cause spasm, cold does. You can get right in.

The heat should actually relax the muscles, a good thing. Enjoy. I've had 2 shoulder surgeries and have been doing physical therapy, we always start out with heat on my shoulder first. Relax and enjoy. You should be ready to get in when the tub is full.

As long as you are generally healthy, cold or warm bath shouldn't cause any problem. Unless you have a reason to be concerned, enjoy....
