I hate them.I hate being called an emo by the kids in my class. One day, I wore eyeliner to school.Just trying to look pretty here. And everyone was like freaking out.Meanwhile, the class sl*t gets to wear all the eyeliner she wants. And one day, I wore black nail polish.Yes, the class sl*t wears that, too. That was the worst. The kids in my class need to grow up.I'm not an emo-I have the happiest, peppiest, craziest personality ever.I HATE stereotypes and labeling. The whole emo/prep/goth thing is so stupid...

They aren't very fair. Not all stereotypes are real, and only show how ignorant the human mind can be if not used to it's full capacity. I believe that if we start looking at people as individuals and not as certain groups who all feel a certain way, we'd move away from these stereotypes for good.

dude, nice hair! (really!) by the way stereotypes are only based on natural tendencies to group things to like things. Prejudice is everywhere. Our natural tendency is to feel comfortable with like people and to exhalt our own kind and this is why nationalism and patriotism is common now. And the natural tendency is to become closer knit when attacked by a common ememy, also (like after 911, how many patriotic commercials did you see on TV?). Unfortunately, though sometimes based in truth, prejudices can be taken to GREAT extremes (although my people are Greek, and most of us actually DO have a hand in the restaurant business, it doesn't mean that it is the only thing we can do)! And really, the idea of prejudice is a sort of an assumption, like any theory, they can be based on a repetitive outcome, but there are exceptions to every rule. ( Let's be clear: there is a significant difference between racism and prejudice!) Any this is a natural tendency, and as long as it is always ALWAYS taken with a grain of salt then it can be managed.

There is some truth to them...and then again there are exceptions...
Basically get to know a person rather than judge them based on a stereotype that might not be true in their case.

Cos they could be really different to what you think they are? Yeh.

they shouldn't exist. it's sad when people won't get to know other people based on stereotypes.
