Your question as stated eludes to this scenerio----- boat in a dunk tank ; running at 1500 rpms consuming 7gpm or 8.1 gallons per hour at 2000rpm. So if you had a different scenerio we need that info to help you out. Please ask a complete question with pertinent info. 4-6 gallons per hour, but that depends on the size of the boat it is pushing and weight of the hull, and number of persons on board etc. Not an easy question. At idle or a little above the engine willl burn 1-2 gallons per hour. At 2000 rpm the boat may not be on plane but pushing water, not good. Buy a Floscan Meter for the boat with a fuel totalizer. It will tell you gallons per hour fuel and total fuel used. Cost about 1000 dollars but saves you thousands on a big boat.

More fuel than if you put the nice boat on a plane an cruised as the speed an time, miles covered is less fuel on plane >>?
