With the scorn and hatred they showed for the UN, you would think that they wouldn't want to have anything regarding their organization associated with the UN. But recently it came out that they indeed became members of the NGO Non-Government Organization-which means they were required to promote knowledge of the principles and activities of the United Nations and disseminate information about the United Nations and its work to their constituencies.

They even included quotes from the UN in the Watchtower! How hypocritical is that? Then when it came out they denied knowing the conditions and had their membership withdrew.

How sad is that?

(I'm going to repost my response to John S' similar question)

So many people here who are "new to the truth" or just studying do not understand how the Organization of JWs has bastardized and lambasted the UN for so long.. calling it the "Beast" and the churches who support it "Harlot"... and oh the imagery in their publications...

this is why Jehovah's Witnesses who have some time under their belts were in such an uproar over the Guardian's story. Here was absolute proof their beloved Organization was involving herself in the very same thing she'd for years ripped on other religions about, in essence, becoming the Harlot right along with the rest of them. Many, many letters poured into the Society's headquarters demanding answers. The rank and file was outraged that their pure society, who demanded so much from them in their personal lives, was living a lie by their involvement in the UN. and such a huge lie, at that.. you just can't understand unless you were involved for a long time early on.. just how hated the UN was to the JWs.. their literature ripped at it every chance it got.. so this was BIG.

but it's very true the Society knew just what they were doing when they became involved as an NGO because to do so, you must absolutely know the rules or the organization is not allowed to join. (Part of those rules are that the organization that joins must support the mission of the UN!) there is also a yearly renewal process, where they make sure the organization that's joined is living up to the agreement. The Society of JWs knew exactly what it was doing when it was joining the UN, they're not stupid, don't let them try to fool you and say "we didn't realize." there is not one thing they do that isn't well orchestrated from the top down.

Why would they do such a thing? for legitimacy, perhaps? to gain leverage in countries where their teaching is forbidden? But they've asked brothers to DIE to preach the word, to not get ID cards that would've lightened their load, prevented them from being macheted to death.. and here they are, joining the UN????? It's difficult to express the shock and outrage and no one who hasn't been a JW can ever understand how hard this is to stomach..

I sense you're a little outraged, too, as every JW who's answered here should be, as well.

Edit: As for the JW posters here who say they joined just to use the UN library and facilities, well, the average JW who wants to join the YMCA to use the gym is forbidden because it's "involving themself in false religion." it's the same thing. The WBTS has involved itself in heresy by joining just to use the facilities of the UN, like any JW would do by joining the YMCA to use the treadmill. same thing.

of course, it's natural for a currently involved JW to want so very much to believe it's ok.. because for it not to be ok would rip at the foundation of their belief system. Hence you find all the justifying above.

Edit: RMRRR below, you should take the time to check this out. this is pertinent to the organization you give your life to, after all. and you know as well as I do the UN is HATED by Jehovah's Witnesses, it's the Wild Beast, after all...

besides, if the Society can benefit from paying dues to use facilities, the average JW should be able to use the treadmill at the local YMCA, after all, they're just using gym facilities, not worshipping... same analogy. think about it.

Whether or not the UN outlaws religion as the JWs say it will, the fact is the wild beast, as written in revelation in the first century, could not have meant the United Nations Organization. Why? Well, first of all let’s remind everyone that the prophecy was about a future event. JWs are quick to remind people of that fact and say,”See, the wild beast is the UN because although revelation was written 2000 years ago, it is a prophecy of the future”. Agreed, it was a prophecy of the future, but here is why it couldn’t possibly have been refering to the UN.
John was taken by spirit or vision to the Lords day. That is why the angel said to John that the beast he saw once WAS but now IS NOT but it would rise up again. Let’s examine that statement closer. First, at the time John was living, the beast was not on the scene. The beast was not present at that time. However the beast had existed prior to that time because the angel told John that the beast ONCE WAS, but now IS NOT.
Yet, that beast that John had seen in vision of the Lords Day would arise again in the time of the end, in the Lord’s Day.
JF Rutherford used this scripture to show that the League of Nations would return again as the UN. So what. People can take biblical verses to make their point on just about anything. And paper lies still for anyone to write anything on it. The fact still remains that the wild beast as written by the writer of revelation could not possibly have meant the League of Nations and UN.

Judging by the number of "thumbs down" that the correct answer received, I'd say the post was a success. Only the most loyal and fervently superstitious JW's would give a thumbs down. I'd like to see that number x1000, then you would have had a massive impact. JW's need this kind of medicine, shoved right down their governing necks.

The Alternative UN NGO Possibility

An alternative viewpoint is the Jehovah's witnesses Bethel organization joining the United Nations as a "non-governmental" co-promotional endorsing global advertising unit fulfills the final signal apostasy right in Bethel (2Thess2:1-4, Dan11:32a), and the UN NGO is a by-product of the 3rd UN presentation in "New Word Order" initiative at Daniel 11:30-31.

Thus the reason why JWs no longer track UN developments as prophecy, they instead joined the UN as UN NGO by Bethel covert machinations. It all stems from 1990 and the ignoring of the 3rd UN placement in the continuum of two former UN placements JWs said were prophetic in 1919 League of Nations and 1945 United Nations presentations. Thus the 3rd UN presentation which should be now UN 1-2-3 continuum, is now dropped and truncated to 1945 UN relevancy, while at the same time Bethel has JOINED the UN pantheon of supporting organizations in 1991.

Thus it is suspicious that Bethel would join the 3rd United Nations presentation global promotions by covert assimilation of UN "public information" into a global work force of JW "streetwalkers" worldwide [without their knowledge], and yet not explain the 3rd UN presentation as a significant step to world government and fulfilling prophecy at Daniel 11;31 and Daniel 8:23. Thus between 1945 and 1990 JWs STOPPED tracking UN prophecy and global development. It is the 1976 Governing Body that seems to be the device of this diversion conveniently going dictatorial in 1976, and with 11 years they had adjoined JWs to the UN.

By this JWs do not perceive Daniel 11:30-45 and Daniel 8:23-25 contain a prophetic continuum of both the 1990 3rd UN presentation (Dan11:31, Dan8:23) and the 4th UN placement (Dan11:45, Dan8:25) of the future as world government. In essence "King North" and the "King Fierce in Countenance" must be identical to global convergent 8th King "scarlet wild beast" final world government development over a FOURTH cycle when we include WW1, WW2, and Cold WW3 as UN cycles all ending into a UN presentation, three times.

Thus Bethel also covers up the "King North" identity as having to be the 8th King for more USSR and Russia "patsy" diversions.

Thus Bethel is also covering up the fourth cycle certainty and deluding JWs with "the world is about to end brothers!" premature end delusion as that in 2Thessalonians 2:1-2 to totally hoodwink and derail JWs from modern UN reality. Thus obviously apostate Bethel is concealing the 3rd and 4th UN placements as part of their UN NGO 8th King UN aiding campaign, and they use JWs to carry it out.

Thus we have instead a temple judgment requirement due to Bethel apostasy and the UN NGO is the "transgression causing desolation" at Daniel 8:13-14 that empowers that Bethel corporate "desolation". (Dan8:11, 11:31a). Now Bethel also covers up (Dan8:12) their own apostasy that CO-DEVELOPS in the time of the 3rd UN placement in Daniel 8:11-13, 23a, and Daniel 11:30-35 prophecy—the same prophecy the 3rd UN presentation also appears, it is a parallel development. Thus the prophecy foretells the 3rd UN placement Bethel now ignores fully, and it foretells the Bethel apostasy "those leaving the holy covenant" (Dan11:30b) that is defined by that UN NGO global alliance (1991-2), still kept secret and excluded from official Bethel publications explaining their UN NGO agreements. (Thus JWs cannot perceive Matthew 24:15 is ALSO fulfilling at Bethel.)

Thus Bethel is also treacherous in concealing their main illegal UN alliance from Ws officially by being fully silent on the matter.

Search "jw temple judgment" for more information, but it looks now like Bethel is the final apostasy, and their judgment is not "the end of the world", it will be the end of apostate Bethel, and it STARTS, not ends, that fourth UN cycle that must proceed for several years. All the Bethel "plausible deniability" and UN NGO "library card" justification are just the ruse for a serious transgression in the JW formerly anointed Christian ministry now gone apostate by Bethel policy and illegal alliances. Bethel is the modern "man of lawlessness" in other words, and that is why 1Peter 4:17 temple judgment is timed and phased as the Daniel 8:13-14 prophecy and decree yet to fulfill. Zechariah 3:1-3 is the current Betel apostate "befouled" reality, and Zechariah 3:4-7 is the coming temple judgment parallel by this alternative rationale presented here.

Bethel is the final signal apostasy that triggers a divine judgment that God carries out on the Bethel organization by their allied UN NGO partner in 8th King expertise for the "trampling" of Daniel 8:13 for 1150 days minimum as per Daniel 8:14, Hosea 6:1-3. Bethel is the 2Thessalonians 2:1-12 "lawless one" and the apostasy and it uses the premature end delusion of 2Thessalonians 2:1-2 to sell Bethel's downfall to JWs as simply "its the end brothers!".

They do not care how long it takes JWs to figure out they got duped, JWs will enter the fourth cycle of prophecy as Daniel 11:42-45 just beginning, as if it is "the end", and thus JWs will be in a global hoax, expertly prepared by Bethel and aided by delusional cover using JW theology and a handy "self fulfilling prophecy" to achieve that JW organizational deposition. The UN NGO is the "transgression causing desolation" that enables such a judgment as Daniel 8:13. The Daniel 8:13 "transgression causing desolation" is the parallel UN NGO of the 1990 "place the disgusting thing that causes desolation" 3rd UN presentation, so Bethel's "trampling" comes from 8th King expertise and planning as per Daniel 11:32a, and Daniel 11:41.

It seems there is a little more going on in the Bethel UN NGO than first meets the eye. They are apostate in the Bethel leadership, where the most serious apostasies always form in prophecy.

Hello. Earlier today I was reading a question and answer's about JW's being Schizophrenia (spelling right?) and Manic Depressive, but I know that's a lie because if that were true they wouldn't be able to answer so intelligently. Like right here. These Jehovah Witnesses are smart and wise people. Achtung Heiss is correct about the asker wanting to participate in black question's and answer's. I saw one of her answer's on a black question "Why black women love white men?" She must have hatred toward the blacks. That is not wise, but foolish. I want to be with the wise one's. Jehovah God did say "Not to be foolish."

Edit: Achtung I did follow your link, but the person asking, deleted her question. Isn't that funny, ha, ha, ha.

NOtice the word non governmental organization. I have been a Jehovah's witness for over 20 years and never have I heard at any assemblies or meetings anything about the united nations in the context of supporting it at all. in fact we pay taxes even if we know they are illegal (unconstitutional) or used in wrong ways because romans 13. Jesus himself said pay to ceasar things to ceaser and God's things to god. this was in response to a question of paying of taxes, other than that if you have read our book the book of revelation, it goes over the book verse by verse, using other areas of the bible to help show what the symbols mean.

So we don't support the united nations and i have no idea where that idea came from. but there are people who used to be Jehovah's witness and who were dissfellowshipped but continue to say they still are. be aware it takes alot to be disfellowshipped we just don't do that on a whim.

the united nations is not God's kingdom on earth. It is the idol of christedom who is a major portion of the harlot riding the scarlet colored wild beast (united nations). Christedom is also described as the antitypical israel. it is committing spiritual adultery. It claims to represent the God of the bible so God takes her at her word and will punish her first.

but the law did require that we have a corporation for the legal oversight of our organization, this is only used as a legal tool, not the main part of the organization. We obey ceaser when it doesn't conflict with God's laws. That is why many were killed in nazi Germany, aka purple triangles, they refused to go into the military, they were willing to do non military chores but not the making of bombs or guns or whatever. But that wasn't enough, hitler wanted utter control.

wikipedia has all the type of tags and such used on prisoners color and patterns showing what they are there for.star was the jews, the black triangle those to die, forgot what they used for homosexuals. there were alot. prisoners that were criminals or dissenters that sorta thing. I googled wikipedia and then typed in I think it was flags or purple triangle, not sure. but it is there.

And we have only one official website all others are phonies, watchtower.org. you can read it for yourself and see it has no references to promoting the un resolutions, treaties or ideology. we only refer to in dealing with bible prophecy. United nations will go off into destruction according to the bible, in fact it will rule only for one hour. very short time compard to other governments.

Jehovah's Witnesses quote things but doesn't mean they agree with it. Or that they are in that organization.
They are neutral as to politics. so they don't take part in any thing that has anything to do with the government.
Except maybe to quote something they said.
