i watched a documentary that listed the seven greatest threat to mankind and it ranked like 4th or 5th. scientists were saying that the realities of movies like terminator and I-bot could happen in the next hundred years or so given the rate of growth in computer technology. apparently ever year the abilities of computers double crazy stuff but personally i don't think the planet has another hundred years left in it. nuclear war and viruses like sars and what not are actually a greater risk to mankind there where a couple of other threats including two meteorites that are on course with the earth, the super volcano located under the Yellowstone national park has apparently enough force to wipe out a third of the earth after it initial eruption and render the rest of the planet uninhabitable due to its enormous dust clouds. and the greatest risk to mankind was global warming. i cant remember the link just do a google video search on last days of the earth or end days something along those lines and it should come up it goes for about 1hour and a half but its pretty interesting.

You bet, right now as I am typing this an army of angry robots are plotting to destroy us. I heard that they are going to unleash their maniacal destruction plan at precisely 7:47 am on October 7th, 2017.

I'd recommend stocking up on cans of beans, can openers, beer, and flamethrowers. I'd also recommend watching the Terminator and Matrix movies at least 1000 times so you have some basic man-machine interaction skills

While I think it is possible, I also think the humans have a tight hold on the advanced "learning and artificial intelligence" of the robots, so even if a few robots escaped, they were be either subdued or destroyed before any major damage occurs.

Possibly. It's more likely that nanotechnology will manifest as a new form of plague, though. Check the link.

its going to be science fiction for quite some time. Biggest worry is the invention of a nanovirus that was created as a weapon and then freed (accidentally or otherwise).
