Do they realize that religion in government was exactly what the founding fathers and the other first Americans were running AWAY from? Do they realize that people are free from religions that they do not believe in being pressed upon them was what this country was founded upon. Not all people believe in God and not all people are Christian so why should Christianity and God be forced upon those people? Many of these people also feel like Islam is being forced upon them. They don't like it....so why do they think their religion is right for everyone else? Why do those people feel like people do not have values or have poor values without the influence of the bible? Do they know that people can come up with their own values from life experiences and that common sense and courtesy and Christian values tend to overlap?

The type of people she is talking about are like those that fight to keep the ten commandments at courthouses. I understand the frustration to Christians with the government constantly knocking stuff like this. However, there is a place for the ten commandments and it isn't in a government building. I don't care if you are Christian, but things that are Islamic, Atheist, Catholic, Christian, (you name it) it doesn't belong in the government.

You always have the right to worship etc. but when it comes to things like the ten commandments outside of a courthouse, saying "just don't look at it" is not enough. It goes against the principles of our country and it makes the government look naive. We are a great religious and cultural mix. Why make things awkward and put something from one of the hundreds of different religions outside a public courthouse?

They believe they are doing the nonbelievers a service by hinting at joining their religion. Saving and what not.

No praying in schools; why? Because not all religions pray the same. And for the students who don't pray, it singles them out faster. Young children are quite harsh and rhetoric (going to Hell, not worthy, etc.) is thrown around a lot. And for those who say that the children should learn to be thick skinned; it's not just the words, it's the isolation.
The children that go to church are the ones who tend to be violent (in my experience).

No religion in government. And vice versa. If one can't control the other, then it's a two way street. The only exception is if one religion advocates violence in any shape or form.

Which Christian conservatives are you talking about that want God, Christianity, and the Bible in government?

And, which parts of God, Christianity and the Bible are you talking about?

Can you give a specific person and what that person exactly wants that you disagree with?

I'm just wondering. I don't want to argue or debate. I just want to know what you really mean?

I haven't seen or heard anyone try to shove any of that stuff down anyone's throat. What am I missing?

We don't. We want God fearing men and women with high moral standards to run the country. Our government seems to lack people of character, at least in recent memory. Religious freedom is what we desire - not government imposed religion. We want government out of our affairs.

You are wrong. The founding fathers were for government not being able to take my right to worship as I want.
I don't want religion in my government....I want government OUT of my religion.

I wished you understood the context of our founding fathers and their sincere and great faith in the Creator. Then you would understand their main intentions and their love for freedom, democracy and unity for the people.
They understood that freedom comes through Knowing Jesus Christ the Lord and that that Freedom is like every battle won today and past, and that its at a great cost to the one who gave it and that was Gods Only Son Jesus Christ.
To say that they wanted our government out of the religious realm is the most ridiculous and misaligned statment that satan has ever given to the one who first instigated it into the ideologies of the liberal thinking of today.
Of course they wanted God and religion and the Government together, but what's caused the division is when the law demands a verdict and mankind refuses the law because that law demands a MORAL and RIGHT & WRONG thinking. Apart from this no government will stand. The old testmant says clearly that "a nation that forgets God will be turned into hell". Our forefathers understood this with an indignant passion and were willing to die for this. They understood that without the laws of our creator which by the way protects the following, #1, our children from being aimlessly destroyed through the wants and humanistic desires of those who have them, they blatantly use their bodies for the lustful conditions and desires and caring less about the end results of their actions and forgeting their responsibilities as human beings and I believe Gods eye is very watchful on this itemized agenda today in the hearts of people everywhere. And this doesn' just admit the American belief but a worldwise belief because its been going on for decades all over the world.
#2, that this law would give us freedom within and without our borders, a peace to live with those inside, and a peace to subside with those across the borders, but the actions of evil entities such as the NOW, ACLU, RAINBOW COALIATION, NAMBLA, and other leagues have brought about a sad state for the Americans everywhere again bondaging their hearts into chains of bondage.
Our government puts forth an order by one person who blatantly disengaged himself from ALL truth and said, "dont ask, don't tell" and running rampant in America are those whos bodies lust and burn within for the same sex which is so prohibited by Gods holy Law. We change our Laws friends, but his law abides forever. what was done when he gave it and what commands it sent forth are still revelatant and have not changed only the sinful hearts of people everywhere, so therefore we see the homosexual lifestyle running rampant not only in America byt worldwide which goes directly against the Commands God instituted and reverenced and ordained and will never change. What a move further towards the disasters of Sodom & of Gomorrah. Study Gods Written Word there you will find answers to all the above and much more. But you blindly hide and fail to face the truth which sets you free, you will be forever entangled and bonded by that law of truth.
Christians Values, Courtesy and other God given senses come hand in hand to Gods word.
We don't hate others, we only reach to them in the Word of Truth and Love and Ask them to see what Jesus Christ is truly about, that's why His kingdom is ever growing and will eventually destroy all others, as that great stone rolls down the hill of indifference and crushing all the failures of like religious beliefs. STUDY for in it you think you have life, but only through Jesus Christ is Freedom, Life and mainly Salvation.

Annie, I can give you a few examples of 'family values' legislation and faith-based initiatives that circumvent the principles of separation of Church and State:

-- Within the past couple months, Rep. Mike Pence (R-Indiana) introduced an amendment to cut funding to Planned Parenthood because abortion counseling and client-paid abortions are included in the services they offer. It's already mandated that NO Federal Funds are to be used for abortion, but that wasn't 'far right enough' for him, so singled out Planned Parenthood to be denied Title X funds. For the agenda of a few, he was willing to deny millions of men, women and teens ALL Planned Parenthood services... family planning counseling (pregnancy prevention), pregnancy tests, birth control, gynecological care, STI/STD testing and treatment, blood pressure tests, etc. Fortunately, cooler heads (Dem and Rep) prevailed so the amendment failed.

Sorry for such a long post that didn't directly answer your question... but I think you can tell I agree with what you said. :-)

I didn't bother reading your babbleing in your description because i know it would just make me testy and i'd go off. To me the better question is why not? Why is everyone so afraid to say, "one nation under god" or to read "In god we trust" every time you look at a quarter. Or even to have an extra 5 minutes in your day to take the pray time and pray, or if you don't beleive, to think about whatever and be quiet for awhile? It's not going to hurt us to put it in, and it's not going to hurt us to take it out. Bottom line is people go nuts over stuff like this, beleive what you want, as long as i know i'm right.

Christianity was one of the major reasons why this country was founded.

And our country was founded on religious freedom. No atheist is going destroy traditional American values , such as God in the pledge issue.

Really? They wrote All men are Created equal. That would imply that something would of had to create us(God). Doesn't seem like they didn't want religion with in the government. If you are talking about the far right, nobody listens to them anyway.
