A maternity test is the same thing as a paternity test, DNA. 99.9% accuracy.

If it is her child than it would be 99.9%. There is actually a very rare condition where even though the mother gave birth to a child and the baby is on all accounts her child, she comes out as genetically NOT being the mother. I saw something on the health channel...something about the child replicating its own DNA...kind of interesting, and VERY complicated to explain.

Actually, it's about 99.8% accurate, again due to laboratory errors. But that's good enough for a judge to just toss in the extra 0.2%. Heck, even quibbling over 99.8% vs. 99.9% is going to annoy a judge.
