As a Hyundai owner, I take exception to your characterization of those who purchase economical Korean automobilies as American-hating lefties. Though I undertand the reflexive patriotic impulse to 'buy American,' the truth is a Hyundais can be a reasonable value, and the RoK is a long-time loyal American ally and trading partner, deserving of our business.

That aside, however, liberals don't hate America, but they are reflexively resentful of authority, and, even though they have largely replaced the 'establishment' that they so enjoyed rebelling against in the 60s, they still consider holding the government, military, law enforcement, and the like in utter contempt to be the height of good taste and even, in thier unique way, patriotism.
