a cloud can take shapes and roam freely in the sky..
but it is the rain that makes them worthwhile....
you can choose to change...
sometimes you can be worth that you ever thought you were..
or can do better that you thought you can be best at...

Depends on the type of change. Generally I'd say make the change happen. I'm all for individual responsibility and taking the bull by the horns.
But then there are some instances when patience is a virtue.
In relationships, you can change yourself but you are powerless to change a condition within the relationship that is 'owned' by the other party. You may influence his/her decisions, but they remain an independent agent.
And then there is the economic imperative of costs and benefits. If I wait for the change to come, is the cost of waiting less than the cost of forcing the change myself. If you know it is coming, it may be wiser to wait than to waste energy which could be used more efficiently somewhere else.
Peace

Individuals tend to do both, though some lean more towards one way than the other.
Ambitious, aggressive types tend to make change happen, with force if necessary. They utilize their attributes to get what they want and when they want it. They are a rather impulsive bunch.
Passive, orderly people tend to be far more patient and prefer a slower, gradual change as to not be caught off guard and thrown out of their comfort zone. They live by the mantra, "Good things come to those who wait." Stringent planning is held in high regard.
The truly assertive, forward-thinking individuals prefer to set things in motion (making change) so that eventually, opportunities will arise that work in their favor (wait for change). Ambition and patience are both utilized.

I make change happen. Waiting for change is a red herring. If you wait then nothing will happen. When you make change happen it sometimes takes time, but it is happening. Waiting will never change anything without action.
Most of us tend to change in times of crisis not when there is stability. So maybe we tend to make changes happen most when there is an underlying need to.

Someone once said, "things don't change-people do...."
Doing nothing & making no decision, IS a decision.
If you wait for things to change to make a decision, either your situation will change for the better/worse depending on the choices you've made up until that point, OR by waiting, someone else will make the decision for you, but either way, the direction your life changes, is still your own decision and up to you.
"you reap what you've sown" into life like seeds. If you want an orange tree, you must plant the seed in good soil and water it. If you want good thing to happen and come to you, you must sow good seeds.
i.e.What goes around comes back around. As human beings, we can change what that is, and what that change does-it's all up to us......

People need to make change happen. I'm the type of person who will take matters into my own hands. Are you?

There is no "we" in this question. It is up to the individual to either change, or wait for change. If the individual is to choose to "make change" then it is up to others to follow.

change can be conceived of in it's purest sense as matter changing position. this perception is only possible as a function of time passing. matter in motion over time is change. in this sense we wait for change to happen. however this perception or observation of a definable, closed system by virtue of the observation causes the desired set of responses. our observation of matter forces change to occur according to a perspective defined by the nature of the observation. in this way we make change happen.

Me, I make changes. There are two types of people: the changers and the changees.
Most people are changees...just waiting for things to happen.
