Leave the abusive spouse. At least that is a step in the right direction. You can't live with abuse. You'll have to take your chances elsewhere. I'm so sorry you are ill. Please take the time to recover even in a house where there is smoke. Escaping the stress you live in now should be your goal.

You are ill, broke and living with a spouse who doesn't treat you well? If you get rid of him then you only have to deal with ill and broke.

Nobody deserves that kind of treatment whether they are ill or perfectly healthy. I would never stay with my spouse, regardless of the circumstances, if he did not respect me and treat me with dignity.

Find a women's shelter and change your life! You sound like a desperate person and it is time to find a way to live without a man. Check with Social Services and ask them to refer you to a women's shelter. It isn't only for abused women. They can be for women in situations like yours who need a boost. Don't settle for anything less than you deserve!

Definately!!! Each day you stay weakens you mentally and physically. There are other options available & tons of resources to help people in your situation help themselves. I'm not sure exactly what your needs are beyond safe housing but your family Dr. can help or at least refer you to others that can.

I think you need to see an attorney. Your spouse might have to provide you with alimony until you get better. Good luck.
