Yes there is a gun in my house. It doesn't leave my home, it is here for my protection when I am in my home. In fact a few weeks ago, someone rung my doorbell late at night, it was a woman who looked very strung out, she asked to use my phone because she was stranded. She had to walk past a whole block of homes to get to mine, my house is at the end of the block, bordered by a greenbelt. I felt that it was a set up, and that there was someone with her that I couldn't see. I told her to hold on. I got my gun and the phone, I handed the phone out the door to her, and I let her see the gun. She made her phone call, in my hearing distance and left. After I closed and locked my door, I hit redial on the phone, she dialed the number 6, she didn't make a phone call. I think had I not let her see the gun, she and whoever was with her, would have tried to force their way into my home. Home invasion is very prevalent where I live.

Toy guns (and swords and lazers and water guns, hehehe) but absolutely NO real guns... don't like them and have kiddies... but even if I didn't have kids I wouldn't have one... I worked in a hospital and saw them bring a dead guy in radiology to x-ray him for some reason but at any rate, he had had the top half of his head blown off... (deceased of course) and the coroner was in there... I will NEVER forget what that looked like and how mortal we all are and how we sometimes take life for granted... For safety reasons and because I love my kids I wouldn't have one in the house... I haven't always thought that way.. before I had children I did have one in the house for a short period of time.....
