I think you mean the North End which is the mostly Italian neighborhood not too far from the airport (just on the other end of the Sumner tunnel that starts at the airport).

The distance is not much (few miles door-to-door at $3 per mile) but leaving from the airport there are some surcharges that add to your cab bill (like Sumner Tunnel toll).

You could also take the Blue Line T from Airport Station to Aquarium Station for under $2. It is just a few minutes of travel time and you don't have to tip the train's engineer.

Here is a link from Massport, the agency that runs Logan Airport, on taxi rates.

http://www.massport.com/logan/getti_typeo_taxis.html#ratechart

Looks like at least $20-25. Taxis are charged $4.50 to go through the tunnels. I believe that is included in the chart.

Good luck!

The best way for you to get an approximate cost is to visit the website of the hotel where you are will be staying (or a hotel close to where you will be staying, if you aren't staying at a hotel).

For example, if you had reservations at a certain Marriott hotel (or you knew there was a Marriott within a few blocks of your destination), you could find an approximate cab fair from the airport to their hotel on their website.

There's no such place as North Boston.... do you mean the North End or the North Shore? And if so where on the North Shore? Or do you mean somewhere completely different?

It shouldn't be too much. They are pretty close. I would say $20, but that's just an estimate. Even though they are close, there are tolls and such added on when you go through the tunnel via taxi cab.
