Quit that crappy team. Safety is always a first in football and if you can't get a proper fitting helmet its best to quit than have serious head and neck injuries later on. Sure they'll say tough it out but usually a new helmet is broken in with the first few days of wear and contact. Its rare to have feelings of pain you are describing during helmet fittings.

Is it one of those helmets that you inflate the padding. I remember when I played high school football, few players had those that you pump them up with a small hand held pump. Then made its over inflated but see what else you can do.

You just have to get used to it. It does that to everyone once they first get it. Wear it around the hose and in a few days it'll be better. If i does this for a while, get a little bigger helmet.

Talk to the school's recommended sports doctor (usually the one that gives most of the physicals). It may be something serious. Don't take any chances. Then, skip over the coach, and go to the athletic director with your parent(s), and have them take your back with strong attitude.

if it has an inflation system you need to have the coaches take the air out and then try it cause it might be the right size just too much air
