The law requires an offer and an acceptance as a binding agreement whether you shook hands, kissed or hugged.

No.

You (both parties) must take some affirmative action to indicate agreement. Thus could be shaking hands, or saying "I agree", or signing a contract -- anything that indicates agreement.

Presume you are shaking hands on an oral agreement. Right?
Oral agreements are not worth the paper they aren't written on.

No. I'm an attorney. Shaking hands is not required to enter into a contract.

It is good manners, however. It is one thing not to shake hands. It is another thing to REFUSE to shake hands. Believe it or not, if you refuse, you will never do business with the other side again

Once upon a time, the handshake WAS the acreement.
you keep your word, I'll keep mine.
Now, it is not essential, but itis a nice gesture, expecially if both parties to the agreement gain something worthwhile.
If you paint my house, i will pay you,
I expect my house will look a lot
nicer, and in turn, I will pay you the agreed amount , at the time agreed upon.

No, as long as both parties have made an agreement it is binding. It can be verbal, physical (handshake), or written.
